One of the staples of every wardrobe is a pair of denim jeans. Jeans are a type of trouser which are probably the most common in the world. Everyone owns at least one pair of jeans, but did you ever think of finding a pair which fits you perfectly?
Jeans come in all sizes and shapes, there are bootcut, flare, straight skinny, super skinny and plenty more… which means that you have plenty of options when it comes to finding that perfect fit for you. If you want to learn how to choose the right pair of jeans to fit any occasion, then keep on reading.
The first rule of buying denim is to make sure that you buy the right shape for your body proportion. Just like you will find specialists in store for picking out a suit, there are people who will help you figure out what type of denim will fit your body shape. Your body proportion is more important than dress size because it reflects the shape of your body. By measuring body proportion you can better see what jeans will fit your curves.
High Waisted or Not High Waisted?
The key to wearing jeans is to know when and when not to go for a high waisted cut. If you have a long torso and short legs, you will want to wear a high waisted cut to make your legs look longer than they are. The opposite is true if you have long legs and a short torso. Also, if you have a big bust and small body, wearing a mid rise cut will accentuate the waist.
They Are A Base Layer
An important thing to remember about jeans is that they should be fitted to the leg. The recent trend of Mom jeans has taken the world by storm, however wearing baggy jeans can make the legs look much wider and add inches to the waist. Instead you should look for a pair which fits the legs without squishing them. If you have skinny legs but a larger middle don’t fret: there are ways to add extra elastic to the middle to combat this meaning they still fit beautifully to your body.
There’s Not One Perfect Pair
A crucial thing to remember is that there isn’t only one pair of jeans which is perfect for you. You could have 10 perfect pairs of jeans for different occasions. The important thing to remember is that you can have more than one style as long as they fit you right! You don’t have to wear high waisted jeans every day for the rest of your life.
Cold Washed Only
It is crucial to only ever wash your jeans at 30 C. If you was your jeans at too high a temperature they will start to shrink and be much more likely to get damaged. If you spend $100 on a great pair of jeans, the last thing you want to do is ruin them on a high temperature washing cycle.
