Maybelline New York created the backstage makeup looks for the MONSE, Self-Portrait, and Jonathan Simkhai SS18 shows. For the Monse Spring 2018 show, Grace Lee for Maybelline New York takes a cue from the sporty vibe of the collection to design a graphic deconstructed cat eye look reminiscent of racing stripes. Placed on a backdrop of clean, glowing skin, the overall effect projects youthful radiance.
Influenced by the 1970’s babes like Bianca Jagger, Brooke Shields, and Jerry Hall, Erin Parsons for Maybelline New York creates a makeup look for Self Portrait Spring 2016 that focuses on natural beauty with a surge of bold glamour. She does this by keeping the complexion clean and minimal, allowing for the eyes to stand out with dewy smudged shades of violet and golden yellow.
The inspiration behind the Jonathan Simkhai Spring 2018 collection was the muted world of conceptual artist Ward Roberts’ photographs. To elicit this crisp aesthetic, Erin Parsons creates an ethereal look that’s both fresh and elegant. She plays with a similar color scheme of “brightness against cool taupe” by using soft natural skin tones to highlight the face.
