Backstage, ECRU New York’s Creative Director, Lisa Lobosco, and Global Education Director, Amanda Jenkins, along with a team of hairstylists, created the hairstyles for 225 models that unveiled the runway collections for the designers.
The team of stylists modernized classic, nostalgic looks of yesteryears, morphing them into fresh, modern styles, including rope twists, ponies, sleek looks, and 40’s-inspired constructed braids.
Spread across three shows, eight emerging fashion designers, including Gemma Hoi, Seven Crash, Lavanya Coodly, Stevenson University, Vitruvius, Aranyani, By Sonia Olla, and BC.J by Sijun unveiled their Fall/Winter 18 collections, accessorized by the beautiful hairstyles.
Lisa Lobosco elaborates on ECRU New York’s collaboration with the fashion designers, “Taking inspiration from the designers’ fashion collections, we created hairstyles that adapted synergistically, so that the hairstyle truly became an accessory. One of the designers’ collections was inspired by nature, hence, we used flowers as symbolism to enhance the hairstyle created for the runway.”
The ECRU New York backstage heroes used to create the 2018 Fall/Winter looks, included:
Dry Texture Spray
Sunlight Finishing Spray Max
and Defining Paste, which allowed stylists to braid without slip, whether braiding fine or course hair for the runway.
