Zoe Saldana happens to be one of my favorite new celebrities. Not only is she my home girl from Queens, New York, Go Zoe, Go Zoe, but she isn’t afraid to take beauty and fashion risks, and always catches everyone’s attention.  Just look at her eye makeup worn to a gala event for AIDS research last night in New York City.

I love it because anything as smoldering as this is right up my beauty alley. But not everyone can carry this ‘right off the runway’ smudged cat eye look, like Zoe, who managed to take a very dramatic beauty look, and make it work for real.  Zoe’s skin tone, dark hair, and extremely sexy, high-necked dress all played a role in making this look work, while giving balance to the strong statement her eyes made.
