The return of the “thigh high” boot is back in girls. That’s right…this fashion statement was quite popular over a decade ago…“dang, what did I do with my Kenneth Cole black suede boots…? Oh, yeah…foot got too big after 2 kids”…bummer:(

Now that leggings have returned in full swing it’s a great combination. They’ve taken the best fashions from the 80’s & 90’s to create a more stylish fashion sandwich…Just be careful girls…sometimes this combo might make the upper part of your outfit look a bit overwhelming. This style is not always so fabulous on all shapes. Unfortunately, it’s most complimentary on slimmer to small-medium figures. The good news for the more full figured gals is that you too can pull this style off when you wear a loose fitting top that hangs just above or below the knees. Then slap on your thigh high boots and you’re good to go!
If you happen to live in colder climates I would suggest a hip stylish looking coat to throw on for warmth.

Feel like a "star" in this stylish yet conservative winter coat
This Crombie Autumn coat is also available in black and made of angora, cashmere & a luxurious blend of wool. Ooh…I can see myself wrapped up in that warm luscious coat and strolling the streets of Manhattan…too bad I live in Southern California…but hey, I can dream…
Go have fun girls…make sure to bring your BFF:)

Unfortunately girls, fashion styles and trends although popular are not always right for us as we are aging fabulously. When you are in your 20’s, even early 30’s it’s okay to wear that short-short skirt or that “peter pan” top bare legged. But I have to tell you at a Van Morrison concert in downtown Los Angeles last weekend I saw a lot of “what was she thinking,” outfits. I’m not saying you can’t wear youthful styles because that’s just not true. I live in juniors and will stay there until I’m 80. But I will also make sure that it looks right on me before I walk out the door. What you wear says so much about who you are as a person.
My friend Vivien and I kept looking at each other with that “did she look in the mirror,” expression. Ladies, consult a mirror or a fashion magazine that focuses on styles more sophisticated for us gals in our late 30’s, 40’s, 50’s. PLEASE!!! And what ever you do, don’t wear high heeled shoes that you CAN NOT even walk in. One woman had heels so high she barely got to her seat. And I’ll tell you she never got up again. Not even at intermission for a pee break!
Here are just a few styles that are fashionable, fun, and youthful. You could wear them anywhere and feel fabulous!
This outfit is by Claire McCardell…love it!!!

This very stylish silk jumpsuit by Jasper Conran will make you walk with a strut.

And for an evening out on the town why not slip into a sexy dress by Vera Mont.
BTW…a great pair of stylish jeans accompanied by a trendy but stylish top can always work too…as long as were not talking Black Tie Affairs…
PS Pierce Brosnan was there with his wife (I modeled with her back in the 80’s) Now she was dressed elegantly in a black gown! You go Keely!!!
Feel free to contact me with any fashion dilemmas. I am here to help all of you fabulous women!
