It’s usually rare to find a beauty product that looks good on everyone, that is unless you’re counting clear lip balm, or lip gloss. Silver eye shadow on the other hand is surprisingly beautiful with any skin tone or eye color. It’s easy to do and a if you use a shimmer shadow you can even use your fingers to apply, and finish with a brush if you need to.  I first started using my fingers to apply color, especially shimmers while working with Bobbi Brown. It is a fabulous way to create a depth that you can’t always get by using an eyeshadow brush.

To create Eva Longoria’s look, first start by using a silvery gray shimmer and patting it on with either your index or middle finger to give your lids a built-in spotlight. This also create a perfect foundation for layering darker colors if you desire.

Then with a gray shadow apply to the crease of eye with a blender brush, or short eyeshadow brush concentrating on the outer corner of eyes. Eva gets it just right by keeping the focus of silvery shadow on the lids and blending with a matte shadow in a slightly darker shade in the crease. For eyes that command added drama, use a gel eyeliner in black and line along the lash line extending just beyond your lashes. Make the line thicker at the ends for a cat like look.

All eyes were on the finalists of American Idol last Thursday night and not just for their Motown tunes. Their eyes were screaming smoky, and the colors were on fire!

Even a beauty newbie can get beautiful sultry eyes without a degree in liquid liner 101. If it’s a more intense stare you desire, then get it by lining your upper and lower rims with a black waterproof eyeliner. As seen here on Elizabeth Reaser.

The trick to getting them just right, is to make sure to always use a freshly sharpened eye pencil when lining the inner rims of your eyes. Using a powder shadow, liquid liner or an unsharpened pencil can irritate your eyes and spread infections. Not anything those beautiful eyes need. To catch any color that may fall, you can apply a powder shadow in Charcoal along the lashline, top and bottom and smudge to create a sultry look.

Julia Roberts made it to the red carpet in NYC for the premiere of her newest movie ‘Duplicity’, but not without her ‘Lights, Camera, Action!’ Eyeshadow Palette from Get in Line. So here we are, another year and the final event to celebrate this years very best films viewed by millions. The Oscars are as you know a big to do here in Hollywood. What a change in her beauty routine when she is just playing herself, and not the sister wife she portrays on Big Love. Ginnifer Goodwin stepped out with half-rimmed eyeliner, and the result was eye opening glamour!

Are her eyes green, gray, or blue? Who knows but they sure looked beautiful. The trick to creating and making close-set eyes like Ginnifer’s look exotic is to start the eyeliner in the middle of the eye. Using an eyeliner stencil will help to make sure the color and lashline are seamless. Lay the stencil over your upper eye and draw a line from above the pupil to the outer corner. For close-set eyes do not apply color to the inner corners.

Using the eyeliner stencil again marked bottom liner, place under eye and draw a line from the pupil to the outer corner. Smudge the lines with a brush where the two meet and you’re done. Add a sunkissed bronze shadow to the lids before lining the eyes for added glamour.
