All we can say is OMG!  We had such a fabulous time hanging out in the Degree Tent with the Unilever team and the girls from Weber Shandwick:)  After our 2 hour shoot with Bravo TV for a new Reality show in which we were personally styled by celebrity stylist Patrick, we hopped into a limo from Music Express with David at the wheel, then zipped off to the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine for a female music fest of a lifetime!  At the VIP gate we were greeted by Janna and Lauren from Weber Shandwick, then personally escorted to The Degree Natureffects For Women Tent alongside the other beauty reporters…

The tent was absolutely beautiful, filled with fresh flowers, comfy sofas, food, drinks and a huge flat screen featuring the music of sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Robinson from the Dixie Chicks.  An immediate “Degree Sisterhood” was formed by all of us in this special tent.  The Sisters were treated like royalty from beginning to end…It was a magical day!!!

Our new found Sisterhood headed to a press conference around 5:00 pm, where we met the Lilith Fair line up which included:  Sarah McLachlan, Emmylou Harris, Brandi Carlile, The Weepies, Jes Hudak, Molly Jenson, Miranda Lambert and Elizaveta. I asked Sarah why there had been such a long gap between Fairs. She replied, “we all had children and needed a break.  Once our kids were older we felt ready to get back to the tour.” The panel was also asked what their idea of “beauty was.” Inner beauty seemed to be the unanimous answer of the day.  They agreed that if they felt good inside, they were good to go all around!  BRAVO!!!  The Bender Sisters thought this an excellent answer:)

What I found interesting was that these female artists were like family.  You could sense the genuine feelings for each other which was a breath of fresh air.  Their views on being a woman in today’s society were very similar as well as their admiration for their female predecessors who helped pave the way for them…

The conference ended with Sarah McLachlan presenting a check to Downtown Women’s Center in LA.  This shelter has helped thousands of women get back on their feet…and what a beautiful way to end the conference!

Lilith Fair 2010, sponsored by Degree Natureffects as well as other generous companies, is bringing women together this summer from all walks of life, lifting them up and honoring all females for their strength, power, wisdom and love!  For every woman who attends Lilith Fair 2010, including the fabulous line up of female artists (which does vary from city to city)…a big thumbs up!

The rest of our day was spent listening to the inspirational voices of Brandi Carlile, Emmylou Harris, Miranda Lambert and the amazing talent of Sarah McLachlan. The night ended with all the girls gathering on the main stage to sing “Because the Night,” by Patti Smith.

Singer/songwriter Taylor Swift, has just been chosen by COVERGIRL to join the ranks of Queen Latifah, Drew Barrymore, Ellen DeGeneres, Rihanna, and Dania Ramirez, as their new spokeswoman.  Swift, the 20 year old, award winning celebrity, just finished shooting her first series of advertisements for a new luxury brand for COVERGIRL.

Gemma Arterton may not be a household name yet but keep your eyes open…this adorable young gal was born in England and started rising up to fame in the late 2000′s appearing in British films like St. Trinian‘s and Capturing Mary a made for television drama.  Gemma made headlines when she was cast as one of the famed Bond Girls in 2008.

Want Gemma’s look?  Then follow our resident Celebrity Makeup Artist Beth Bender’s beauty tips…Use my cat eye stencil from my “get in line stencil kit,” place it high above your lashline to create a thicker cat eye like Gemma’s.  Then take the fat end of the brush, slightly wet it with water then dab it into the black shadow, gently press onto your eye, filling in the area between your lashes and the top of the stencil.

Remove the stencil, dust the light ivory color from my kit above your newly created cat eye followed by your favorite mascara like CoverGirl’s Lash Fusion.  Coat your lashes several times and you’re good to go! (Total makeover time is about 5 minutes)

At this years Grammys Katy Perry decided to use all of the bindis she brought back from India to create an “Indian Princess” look with celebrity makeup artist, Jake Baily.

To perfect Katy’s skin, Jake used Make Up Forever HD Invisible Cover Foundation then set the look with Guerlain Les Violettes Matte Touch Powder all over her face.  Then he highlighted the apples of her cheeks with CORALista blush from Benefit.
