There was a time in my life when I obsessively washed and styled my hair everyday, especially if I was going out. We’ re talking full on straightening, heat styling, spraying to the high heavens.

Thank goodness dry shampoo was invented because I refused to leave the house with unwashed hair. First of all, I wake up every morning with my hair looking like the bride of Frankenstein, and second, my locks get greasy at the roots…not a good look for anyone.

Enter the miracle of dry shampoo which soaks up oil, makes hair smell nice and allows you to skip a day (or two) of washing.

I tested this Got2b Fat-tastic product which even adds extra body to hair which is a nice bonus, call it the “Collagen effect”.

If you haven’t used dry shampoo before, here are some tips- *section off your hair so roots are in sight. *hold the can out from  hair so the spray covers a large area, spray on roots. *With a blow dryer, focus the air flow on the roots, where you just sprayed * brush through so none of the powder shows.

I prefer not to heat style on the days I use dry shampoo, I usually pull my hair back into a ponytail or in a little bun. I add a little serum to the ends to make them behave and then I’m out the door.

Adding a new style to my repertoire, I have been using the Goody Spin Pin. This nifty little device simply and easily allows you to create an instant chic bun. I was nervous it would get tangled in my hair but alas, it twists in and out of hair like a corkscrew. Hair will not move and the Spin Pin won’t fall out until you unwind it. A definite must-have for a quick hairstyle that looks more complicated than it really is.

I’ve always lusted after Jennifer Aniston’s beautiful hair. So long and thick, with just the right amount of shine and texture. Recently she lopped off a few inches, creating a modern bob. I loathe cutting my hair and keep wishing it would thicken up but it constantly looks stringy. I’m currently on the fence about chopping it….

… I’m also liking  January Jones hair, the buttery color and length looks like something I could handle. Just a little hair serum and a big brush, a couple of hot rollers and… done!

Gorgeous Brooklyn Decker took scissors to her long hair and created this choppy ‘do. Still long enough to pull into a ponytail but short enough to look like a whole new coiff. I think its cute and springy. Of course, it would help if I looked like Jennifer, January or Brooklyn!

Its true, lipstick is back in style. Not that it ever fell off the radar but its been gloss that has been in the forefront of cosmetics for years. Its all been about the high shine and plumping action of good gloss.

Frizzy To Smooth? No Problem With John Frieda’s Full Repair.

There’s a new line of products in town and if you have frizzy hair, you will love them. I was sent samples of  Full Repair hair care from John Frieda, who you  know from his ground breaking Frizz Ease products.  Traumatized hair that’s been beaten down by heat styling, coloring, and environmental causes will benefit from Full Repair.

The Full Body Shampoo and Conditioner did a great job of cleaning hair and softening the ends, where most of the trouble can be seen on my own tresses. I was very pleased that the conditioner did not weigh my hair down as some repairing conditioners are prone to do.

The Protecting Root Lift Foam contains Inca Inchi oil which soothes hair with moisture but again, will not make hair greasy or heavy. My hair actually had a good amount of body after using it.

The Perfect Ends Deep Infusion is a light oil (Inca Inchi oil) that tames frizz, just a few pumps of this- no more than two- and hair instantly becomes silky! The Sheer Mist is sprayed on damp hair and this too aids in repairing frizz.  The Touch- Up Flyaway Tamer is a little wand that you comb through flyaway hairs to get them back in line.

I was very very pleased with this line of products and love the smooth silky look of my hair when I’m done styling my coif! My ideal ‘do is non-frizzy but with big curls- this line definitely gets me closer to my Gisele Bunchen hair. I just need to get it thicker…

Here’s a three day solution to frizz which is kind of like getting a professional blowout in your own home.

Spray the 3-Day Straight product onto wet hair- I generously sprayed this all over then combed through. Blow drying in sections, I pulled the hair taut using a large round brush. I could tell immediately that my hair lacked its usual frizzy quality, instead  my hair was very smooth.

The first time I tried this, I flat ironed my hair and it was very straight. Since I prefer a bit of curl, the next time I used my large barrel curling iron (I love Hot Tools) and made loose waves to give my hair more body. I had a good hair day afterwards!

Hair will stay straight up to three days if you don’t shampoo your hair. After I sleep on my hair after one night, I look like the Bride of Frankenstein. Granted the frizz factor was lower than usual,  but I needed to re-wet and restyle my hair to get the same smooth effect.

I give two thumbs up and my stamp of approval to both the Full Repair line and the 3-Day Straight. I love technology! Its wonderful to  be able to tame my fuzzy hair into something actually nice looking!

Did you know that Heart disease is the leading cause of death amongst Americans? Its true! So sad, women especially are very susceptible to heart disease. I don’t have stats at my finger tips but I do believe women are more likely to die from it than men.

The American Heart Association has declared February as Heart Month.

Joico is a hue supporter of this cause and this year they launched “Give from the Heart” a campaign effort to help build more awareness and prevent heart disease.

L’Oreal introduces their new True Match Naturale, a gorgeous collection of soft colors and dreamy powders, this makeup reminds me of an impressionist painting. Its gentle, mineral makeup that’s a true match for your skin tone and color- ideal for girls like me who loves makeup but don’t want to go overboard on the color.

I have my eye on Pink Glow, an all over mineral powder that will  give my wintery face a light and healthy flush. In the cold months, I feel so blah and pale- a dose of color is what I need!

I’m loving Gwen Stefani’s hair and makeup here. With her dark eye color, she can get away with that strong brow. Her trademark red lips gives the look a retro feel and her updo just completes the over all look, a modern take on 1960’s glamour. Love it!

For those deep red lips, try L’Oreal’s Infallible Lipcolor in Beyonce’s Red. For the brows, use VanityMark’s brow pencil in Dark Choco.

While I may not be wild about the fuzzy dress she’s wearing, Angelina Jolie is ravishing. Its her long dark hair that makes me rethink my ultra blonde locks. I wouldn’t mind being a brunette… if my hair looked like hers. And if I looked like her.

The slightly bronze smokey eye plus pinkish cheeks and lightly frosted lipstick compliments the winter white of her gown. And clearly, she invested in a good push-up bra!

To look exactly like Angelina, I  like the Sue Devitt eyeliner in Tanzania, its a great brown-bronze shade. For the lips, I recommend Lancome La Laque Fever in Optical Rose.

Here’s my new favorite body wash from Whish! You might know Whish from their fantastic luxurious shaving products including  shaving creams, lotions and oils that make freshly shaved legs feel like silk.
