Jessica Biel turns 29! Get her makeup look with step by step tips from makeup artist Piper Cline of Angelo David Salon and Smashbox Cosmetics.

1) Piper started applying Smashbox’s Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer using Smashbox’s foundation brush #13
2) To give that sunkissed glow around the apple of the cheeks, she used Smashbox’s Blush Rush in chiffon with the Smashbox Fan brush #22
3) With Smashbox’s Face and Cheek Brush #2, she finished the look using Smashbox’s Baked Fusion Soft Lights in Baked Stardust
Eyes
1) To help make up stay all day, Piper first applied Smashbox’s Photo Finish Lid Primer. For the eyelids, a golden copper shade from Smashbox’s Eye Shadow in ambient color works well with Jessica’s eyes.
2) Applying Smashbox’s Eye Shadow in Torch Color along the lash lines and creases will give more definition to the look
3) Piper then layered Smashbox’s cream Eyeliner in Lava Color in the center of the lids, to help reflect light.
4) To create the subtle cat-eye, Piper used Smashbox’s Limitless Waterproof Liquid Liner Pen in black then finishing the look with Smashbox’s Hyperlash Mascara in Blackout
Lips
1) To keep Jessica’s silky matte finish, Piper filled the lips with Smashbox’s Be Legendary Lipstick in rosy pink color.
2) She finished the look by adding a touch of shine using Smashbox’s Reflection High Shine Lip Gloss.

The votes are in and we’ve got the awards for the best hair and makeup of this year’s Oscars. From bold bangs to the prettiest pink lips, these are our top six beauty looks of the night. Drum roll please………and the winners are….

Best overall: Gwyneth Paltrow. It may have been her dramatic white cape that first caught our attention, but it was Paltrow’s simple and stunning hair and makeup that earned her top honors. The Oscar winner’s sleek low ponytail, sun-kissed skin, and tiny twinkling studs (such a refreshing twist to the typical dripping-with-diamonds red carpet look) all came together perfectly.

Best risk-taker: Viola Davis. The emerald green shadow paired beautifully with her Vera Wang gown; her rich reddish crop (hubby Julius Tennon encouraged her to wear her hair natural!) was a breath of fresh air among the updos, wigs and extensions that typically steal the show. P.S.: The best actress nominee’s skin is stunning—we want whatever skincare she’s using like yesterday.

Best effortless hair: Jessica Chastain. A half-up, half-down hairstyle has the potential to look, well, really, really bad (think maid of honor hair). But Chastain’s stylist beat the odds. With a center part, tousled texture, and just the right amount of volume at the crown, it framed her face exquisitely.

Prettiest lips: Michelle Williams. Instead of matching her lips to her coral Vuitton dress, Williams went for a bright pink shade that was modern and totally sweet. The pop of color highlighted her porcelain skin and the glossy finish added a youthful effect to the best actress nominee’s look.

Just plain hot: Angelina Jolie. A dizzyingly high leg slit, glossy red lips, bombshell waves—the always-sexy star knows how to wow. She. Is. Smoking. And, yes, we are most definitely speed-dialing our stylist to get that that gorgeous golden brown hair color she debuted on the red carpet.

Most striking: Rooney Mara. Skipping her usual all-black attire, she turned heads with an unexpected pearl-colored Givenchy mermaid gown. But it was the bold statement above her neck that caught our eye: crazy-shiny raven hair, matte red lips and majorly fierce brows.
What do you think of our top picks? Which actresses do you think stole the show?

Blake Lively is right on trend with a pop of bright pink on the lips. Here’s how to find the right pink for you.

From bold neon to pretty peony, pink lips are the color of choice—and will be through spring and summer. Blake Lively showed off a chic shade of magenta that complimented her fair skin and blond hair at the Noon By Noor Fall 2012 presentation.
“Pink really is universally flattering if you find just the right shade. For medium or olive complexions, look for a dusty rose or mauve tone. If you’re darker try a bright pink with blue undertones for a pop of color” says our beauty expert and celebrity makeup artist, Beth Bender.

I love Dianna Agron’s upswept hair here! Read on to learn how to get the look…

INSPIRATION: celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel wanted to create a romantic up-do to mimic the movement of Dianna’s dress.
How To Get the Look: Adir began by applying Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Cream from the roots to the ends of the wet hair to create texture. He then rough-dried the hair with his hands. After the hair was completely dry, he sprayed Fekkai Oceanique Tousled Waved Spray throughout the hair, and rough dried it through once more. To begin the up-do Adir took a section of the hair from the top of the left ear and created a long fishtail braid.
He then wrapped that braid around the front of the head like a crown, leaving the hair underneath loose and undone. Adir then took the rest of the hair and created three more fishtail braids, ultimately twisting them together in the back of the head and securing them with hairpins. To hold the look Adir sprayed Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray .
All products by Fekkai: Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Cream ($25), Fekkai Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray ($25), Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray ($25). Available at Fekkai.com and Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue stores.

I’ve long been a fan of Janet Evanovich’s fun novels about bounty hunter Stephanie Plum. In my own mind, I had the roles of the characters cast including Sandra Bullock as Stephanie Plum and Dwayne Johnson as sexy Ranger. But for some reason, the producers didn’t consult me before casting the film!? The plum role (har har) went to Katherine Heigland here she is at the premiere.
If you are a starlet looking to make a splash on the red carpet, the color RED will do the trick. With the right hair and makeup, red can be not only flattering but bold and eye catching. But we arent here to talk about her dress which I really like. We are dissecting her coif!
“Celebrity hairstylist David Babaii created her red carpet look using Grace Kelly as his inspiration. To transform your tresses from brown to a “Hollywood Blonde” David recommends using the professional hair color Aquarly 20/20 by IT&LY HAIRFASHION to achieve a long-lasting, natural and healthy looking shade.
To create this Grace Kelly inspired look, David started with IT&LY’S Advanced Color Protection Shampoo and Conditioner. After gently towel drying, he applied a small amount of Miracle Oil Hair Elixir by David Babaii for its intense conditioning benefits, superior color preservation and thermal protection.
Next, after blow drying, he used a medium sized curling iron creating curls and directing them off the face and under. To style, David lightly back brushed the fringe area for some height and smoothed this lightly with a medium paddle brush.
He continued the style by using his fingers to loosen the curls into soft waves and drawing all the hair into a loose chignon toward the back of the head and securing with silver coated bobby pins. David finished the style with IT&LY HAIR FASHION’S Pure Definition Hair Spray.”

She’s always been one of my favorites with her dark hair and beautiful skin. I’ve liked Julianna Marguilies since she was Nurse Hathaway on ER. Didn’t you just LOVE the love story between her character and George Clooney’s character? Ahhhh. Here at the Golden Globes, she is stunning in her purple gown. The unexpected pop of color from the earrings was a brilliant choice!

JULIANNA MARGULIES /Makeup Artist: Kristofer Buckle
Inspiration: For Julianna’s makeup, Kris was inspired by Julianna’s deep mauve, metallic Naeem Khan dress. He wanted to create something that would complement its texture and liquid-like flow.
Step by Step How-To:
For the night, Kris kept Julianna’s skin simple with glowing soft tones to accentuate her olive skin
To keep Julianna’s complexion looking flawless he used L’Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup in Soft Ivory
For her cheeks he applied L’Oréal Paris Magic Smooth Soufflé Blush in Plume
The eyes really took center stage with a soft smoky eye that was created with watercolor-like shades using L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Bronzed Taupe, Eternal Sunshine and Iced Latte
To tie the look together Kris used a hint L’Oréal Paris Infallible Eye Shadow in Iced Latte on Julianna’s upper cheeks to tie in the eyes and glowing tones of her skin
Lips were left unlined and highlighted natural tones (with a hint of mauve) using L’Oréal Paris Infallible Le Rouge in Forever Frappe

At the 2012 Golden Globes Awards, Best Actress nominee Zooey Deschanel won our hearts with her mod cat-eyes courtesy of makeup artist Jorjee Douglass. Using Rimmel products, Douglass blended black and silver shadows along the lid to create the swooping shape, concentrating black shadow in the crease for dimension.
A back-and-forth swipe of a black gel liner along the top lashline, and a few feathery strokes of black pencil along the bottom were the final touches. As was a generous coating of rich mascara to give Zooey’s eye that retro look we are still talking about today. To achieve perfect cat eyeliner without the help of a professional makeup artist Jorjee suggests the Get in Line Eyeliner Stencil Kit from beth bender beauty.
