(above is a guest room that is calling my name…!)

Welcome to the Four Columns Inn, nestled in the Green Mountains of Newfane, Vermont.  This historic and luxurious Inn combines the best of old-world charm, with the latest in culinary innovation.  Set on a picturesque 138-acre property, the Inn’s rooms encapsulate the perfect blend of warmth, comfort, and luxury, providing guests with the quintessential Vermont experience.  Four Columns Inn has been welcoming guests through its doors since 1965.  A fabulous get-away destination that has attracted the likes of Mick Jagger, Henry Kissinger, and Tom Cruise over the years, while still remaining a beloved destination for us non celebrities:)!

Hard to believe that this stately Inn had some tough times.  After changing ownership a few times, it went into foreclosure.  In 2013, Charles Mallory, a hotelier with a huge heart, a keen eye, and a passion for invigorating communities and creating memorable experiences for his guests, bought the Four Columns Inn and did a spectacular renovation while preserving its original charm.  It was officially reopened in August 2015.

Mallory knew it would take a top culinary team to reestablish the Inn’s restaurant, now named Artisan Restaurant Tavern and Garden, as a farm to table haven.  He brought in Executive Chef Frederic Kieffer to oversee the cuisine, the Executive Chef of L’Escale in Greenwich, Connecticut, and Artisan Restaurants in Southport and West Hartford, Connecticut.  Chef Erin Bevan, a devoted farm to table chef, was also brought on board as Chef de Cuisine.  Bevan is a Massachusetts native with a passion for sustainable agriculture and honest cuisine prepared with fresh ingredients.  She is responsible for production and daily management of Artisan at the Four Columns Inn.  Bevan works closely with approximately 20 local farms including Big Picture Farm, a goat farm that guests enjoy visiting.  They make the most delicious caramels found in the mini bar of each room at the Four Columns Inn.  They are also for sale in the lobby along with other local goodies!

Also offered at the Four Columns Inn is a SPA and Wellness Center, which includes a variety of massage treatments including: Deep tissue, Sweedish, Hot stone, Ashiatsu, Craniosacral, and a Thai yoga massage.  Don’t miss out on a massage with Spa Director, Jesse, a highly experienced massage therapist.  There is also a fitness center and an outdoor pool. During the warmer months you can experience a massage outside in the fresh air.

Mallory’s love of art, supports local artists which will enhance your experience that much more. He also added a family-friendly option by purchasing a house next door to the Inn that sleeps nine.  The guests can still access the many benefits of the Inn while enjoying a bit more space. The house is perfect for families, reunions, and a girl’s getaway weekend.  *A full complimentary breakfast is included for all guests,: homemade muffins, fresh yogurt and berries, farm fresh eggs any way you like, and its signature venison sausage.

Bottom Line…Four Columns Inn is a special oasis evoking zen calm with country chic.  Something so unique, that the minute you step foot on the grounds, you are HOOKED!  Chickens roam the property, a stream runs through its woods, the food is absolutely divine, and like most of Mallory’s properties, original artwork makes it all the more interesting.  It is also pet friendly!!! Love that:)
