Want to be designer trendy but need to stay on a budget?  Then Marshalls and TJ Maxx are waiting for you!  They have all top designer clothes, shoes, lingerie, handbags, etc., just screaming to be taken home!  And if you haven’t noticed, these two stores are popping up all over the states!

Corporate headquarters are located in Boston, Mass. where you will find the best of the best in merchandise.  If you are willing to hop on a plane or in a car it’s FASHIONISTA HEAVEN, I tell you!  If not, you will still find lots of fabulous items near by.

This season capes and ponchos are the trend, in greys, black, browns, and taupe.  Purses are looking more like satchels and clutches are hot.  Shoes are more of a wedge heel & laced up.  Boots are knee high with an emphasis on “horseback & motorcycle” riding.  Pumps are looking casual with chunky high heels in solids or leopard.  Accessories include chunky cinch belts, colorful scarves and lots of long necklaces.

I suggest looking at online magazines and fashion sites to see what the “perfect style” is for you.  Remember, just because it is in fashion, does not mean it will look good on you!  Really take time to find your own style and send us a photo to post on BSW!

PACKING THE PINK COLOR PUNCH FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2012

This season, New York’s cult favorite pampering spot Haven Spa partnered with essie to bring color inspiration for some of New York Fashion Week’s biggest shows, including Preen and Rebecca Minkoff – both of who favored pink nails to go with their collections. While both collections had entirely different nail looks, it’s evident that regardless of shade, pink colored nails are always the best bet for spring and summer.

COLOR TREND: SORBET SHADES

Pastels, pastels and more pastels! Preen’s collection was filled with sorbet-colored pieces combined with modern, yet feminine prints. To keep nails looking natural but packing an extra punch of subtle color to correlate with the collection, sheer, sorbet-colored lacquers were used. The fingernails were painted one coat in essie’s Pink Lemonade, a shimmery, iridescent shade of light pink with an orange tint. The toenails were then painted one layer of a more solid, deeper pink with a hint of lilac – essie’s Chastity – so toes could pop out playfully in the neon sandals that came down the runway. Both fingers and toes were finished off with essie Top Coat and Quick Dry Drops.

COLOR TREND: STRIPES

Filled with neon brights, macro florals and python prints, Rebecca Minkoff’s collection consisted of the fun, girly pieces that the brand is famously known for. It was only appropriate that the nails conveyed the same pizazz of bright colors. A candy-striped look, nails were first coated in two layers of essie’s Below the Belt, a dazzlingly bright creamy white. Two coats of vertical pink stripes were then painted with a thin brush with essie’s Pink Parka, a shocking, Barbie-esque shade that made the nails pop to spectators, even sitting from afar the runway.

Pattie Yankee worked with designers Carly and Michelle to create a “flesh extension” look.  Pattie used a base of Dashing Diva’s Mr. Right polish mixed with mineral makeup to match each model’s skin tone perfectly.  The designers chose an extended, sharp, oval shaped nail.

For this season’s show, Supima featured the designs of eight students from FIT, Pratt, RISD and Savannah College of Art and Design who were judged by a group of celebrity panelists including Alexandra Wilkis Wilson, founder of Gilt Group; Charlotte Ronson; Coco Rocha; and Nicole Miller.
