An Easy Way To Get Perfect Cat Eye Liner–No Flick Involved

Was Pat McGrath’s super simple trick for getting the cat eye liner on the Valentino spring 2012 couture runway so perfect?
Drawing little squares in the outside corners of the eyelids with a black eyeliner pencil and fill in. Done. No wobbly flick! Maybe for some, but using a Cat Eyeliner Stencil works too, and you can forgo the squares all together. But don’t take our word, see for yourself…
The square, not pointed, winged out liner does create a slightly edgier look but it’s not so different. It’s still sexy, yes. It’s still cheekbone-enhancing and retro in all the right ways, yes. Here’s a look at the soft, pretty way the liner was filled in and blended. Seems like a little bit of shadow might have been involved, but it may have also been just a smudge of the liner too.
And here’s the finished look on the runway. McGrath told WWD, “They really wanted the face to be very bare, and for it to be just about that square and that perfected skin,”. Job well done Pat! It’s gorgeous. Oh, in case you can’t tell, the brows were also lightened.
