Look at This Gorgeous Burgundy and Gold Eye Makeup Look Seen on JoAnna Garcia!

Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on 23rd August 2011

Yes, stop everything and look at this eye makeup look on JoAnna Garcia.  Seriously people! How can you miss these super, sexy eyes from any distance.

What we have here are eyes lined with a dark Burgundy, almost eggplant color, but the line is very precise and is applied around the entire eye, top and bottom.  The liner is thicker towards the outer eye area which definitely makes this look stand out.  For added drama there is a black eyeliner on her inner rims, and to finish a gold shimmer shadow swept across her top lids as well as underneath her eyes.

The gold softens up the rich purple so nothing looks heavy, but she’s still all sultry and smoldering.  Plus, the colors really make her green eyes pop.

Don’t you love the combo? If so, you can use the HRH smoky eye kit, or as the Brits like to call it Her Royal Highness to re-create her look.  It comes with a beautiful dark eggplant, golden-beige, and bronze shimmer shadow.

Better get started, the weekend is only days away!

Get Hilary Duff’s Smoldering Purple Smoky Eyeshadow Look In 3 Easy Steps

Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on 11th August 2011

Hilary Duff is no slouch when it comes to her smoky eyes, and when she is seen sporting them, believe me, you notice them.  I have found this particular look to be perfect for a hot date, first or not, and anytime you feel like going smoky without all of the dark colors.  Take a look at the hotness happening on Hilary Duff’s eyes here thanks to some smoldering purple eyeshadow…

0911-hilary-duff-eyeshadow-date-night_bd.jpg
0911-purple-eye-makeup-close_bd.jpg
The three key things going on around her eyes minus the added lashes and mascara:

1) She’s got a touch of black eyeliner along her upper lids.

2) Then there’s purple eyeshadow dusted around most of her eyes and even further in on the bottom than on the top. She has softened the purple in the crease, and underneath with a rose-gold shimmer that gives this look its smoldering finish.

3) And last, there’s a soft beige shimmer in the inner corner, and brow bone to to highlight and make her eyes pop even more.

Three fairly easy steps to creating what I think are pretty hot looking smoky eyes.  So, will you copy them for that hot date this weekend? Or that roof top barbecue?  Well,  if you do, you might want to check out one of Hilary’s favorite smoky eye kits.  The LYL Smoky Eyeshadow Kit, and a beauty staple in her makeup bag.

What Did You Think Of Dianna Agron’s Metallic Cat Eye’s on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon? Want To Know How To Get Them?

Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on 8th August 2011

Okay girls, are you ready for another season of super sultry, smoky eyes or not?  Glee star Dianna Agron was when she stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in New York with a smoky cat eye that looked seriously sultry for a hot summer night.  We asked celebrity makeup artist Beth Bender, who happens to know a thing or two about smoky eyes how to create Dianna’s super sexy eyes without looking like a raccoon.

Get Diana Agron's super sexy smoky eyes now!

Dianna Agron's Smoky-Cat Eyes

“The first thing to think about especially when doing a look like this is choosing the right color.  The silver shimmer works well, and keeping the color lighter towards the inner eye is smart, says Bender.”  If you decide to use an eyeliner pencil and tend to get shiny, you may want to prime the lids first with an eye primer.  I like to start with a pencil first, and finish with an eyeshadow when creating dramatic eyes like Dianna’s.  Starting with a metallic silver pencil draw an exaggerated outline from the inner corners of the eye,  jutting out slightly toward the temple.  If you’re using only eye shadows to create this look, then try a Cat Eye Stencil to get the perfect shape seen here.  Once you have the cat eye stencil placed where you like it, fill in the shape with a grey shadow, and repeat on the other eye.  Then using a tapered eyeliner brush very carefully so as not to mess up your liner, run your brush along the bottom lashes with your silver shimmer shadow continuing around the inner corner and stopping in the center on top lashline.  You can add a deep charcoal shadow, or black gel liner along the top and bottom lash lines at the outer corners to create dramatic definition.

And that’s it.  Super easy, and really sexy. Don’t you think?  Yes girls, you will be seeing a lot of variations of the famous cat eye this fall so why not have it perfected in time to be your go-to look for fall?

Here’s a few products to check out too!

Celebrity Beauty at Comic-Con 2011: Olivia Wilde’s Sultry Smoky Eyes and Pale Lips at The Premiere of Cowboys and Aliens

Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on 25th July 2011

Olivia Wilde along with the entire cast of Cowboys and Aliens showed up for the red carpet premiere at this years Comic-Con in San Diego. Her western attire and smokin’ eyes got our attention, along with everyone else, and had us wishing for deep set eyes like hers.  Smoky eyes don’t have to set off any alarms in order to get you noticed, and Olivia rocked hers ‘Western style’ using a grey, and charcoal eyeshadow, along with a dark black liner to create her eyes.

To get Olivia’s look we called upon celebrity makeup artist Beth Bender, known for her smoky eyes, and the Get in Line Eyeliner Stencil Kit. The first thing you want to do is add a base color on the eyelid in a soft gray.  Make sure to apply slightly above the crease before adding your charcoal.  This will help with blending in the darker shadow, and create a softer, sexier eye.  Using the charcoal shadow apply into the crease of eye blending back and forth from the center of eye and out. Sweep the same color under the eyes as well.  To soften the lines apply a light beige, or bisque color using a fuller size eyeshadow brush and blend from the brow bone to the crease. Nothing too elaborate, but the combination of colors work really well, and it’s a look that can be done on most skin tones.

To finish, apply either a black gel liner, or waterproof eyeliner in black along the lashline. You can smudge with a Q-tip or brush to diffuse the color, or leave as is.

Loving the idea of this pairing?  Well, head over to our shopping section and pick yourself up some new shadows to play with! Right now get 3 smoky eye kits from beth bender beauty for only $72 (a $108 value). The Anniversary Set includes 3 smoky eye kits, ( nine shadows to mix and match) stencils, brushes, and a super cute silver foiled pouch lined in a purple paisley print so you can take them with you.

Mila Kunis Rocks The Red Carpet With The Sexiest Bronze Smoky Eyes

Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on 21st July 2011

Mila Kunis’s makeup artist Tracey Levy, created a smoky eye that she calls “a modern take on Sophia Loren” for Kunis’s New York City premiere of Friends with Benefits.  Levy applied a chocolate brown liner along her eyelids, continuing out past the corners of her eyes for an elongated effect, and finished by blending with a trio of shimmer shadows in bronze and golden hues.  The result was super sexy, and perfect for the extremely warm weather New York has been having.

Mila Kunis's Bronzed Smoky Eyes

For an extra ‘Wow’ factor, Tracey layered a black and brown liner to the upper and lower rim of eyes, smudging as she applied the color.  A rich black mascara generously coated each lash to give Mila’s eyes the full effect.  “I took an otherwise natural brown up a notch. I wanted her to have a sexy summer evening look, suited to the city or an island vacation,” says Levy.  We think she did a great job. What do you think?  And if you’re thinking of re-creating this look on yourself, here’s a few products to consider:

Girls Night Out: Bronzed Smoky Eyes You Can Do in Minutes

Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on 15th July 2011

Bronzed sun kissed eyes are perfect for summer, and they sizzle up good, day or night. Whether you’re having lunch with your BFF’s, window shopping, cocktails by the pool, or just running out for a coffee, you can’t go wrong, and they look super sexy on any skin tone. This is one of my favorite looks, especially when I have a limited amount of time to pretty myself.

SGBProductShot

You can use you fingers for a more intense color on the lid before blending, or just use a fuller size brush if you want only a wash of color. For a dramatic winged-out effect, apply the color to the crease and blend upwards towards end of eyebrow.  The SGB Smoky Eyeshadow Kit was used to create the eyes seen here, and now you can get that and 2 more smoky eye kits as part of the Get in Line Eyeliner Anniversary Set. This smoky eye kit has spent as much time on the red carpet as Kim Kardashian’s smoky eyes have, but seriously, so easy to use and the colors will bring an instant smile to your face. I promise.

Super Easy Eye Makeup Look: Emma Watson’s Contoured Gray Eyes

Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on 7th July 2011

Gray eye color has become very popular with celebrities lately. Last week Julia Roberts at the Premiere of Larry Crowne, and this week Emma Watson for Harry Potter.  The one thing that is great about using gray eyeshadow is that it can double as a contouring color in your creases as seen here on Emma at a photo call for Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2.

0707-emma-roberts-gray-eye-makeup-look_bd.jpg

0707-emma-roberts-gray-shaded-eye-makeup-look-close_bd.jpg
I am just loving her hair too, but back to the eyes.  Look at her creases and see how the gray is tucked in there so subtly? That’s shading and it makes your eyes look bigger by creating the illusion of more shadow in the folds of your lids. To finish, the gray shadow was dusted very lightly over the rest of her upper lids,  and then heavier along her bottom lashline.  If you’re into it, give it a try, and check out these products for getting Emma’s look.

It’s an easy eye makeup look to copy on yourself, and one that’s flattering on almost everyone.

Julia Roberts Takes a Cue From The Hot Weather With Shine Free Smoky Eyes

Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on 29th June 2011

At the premiere of Larry Crowne this week in Los Angeles, Julia Roberts played the humidity card and showed us her way to rocking a sultry smoky eye even in the heat.  Rather than going for the super dramatic eye and sweeping shadow up to the brown bone, she kept the color soft and contained along her eyelids to prevent any slippage, or smudging.

Julia Roberts

If you’re eyelids are even shinier in the warmer weather, using an eye primer will absorb excess oil and give your eye shadow extra staying power.  To create Julia’s summer smoky eyes, apply a slate gray powder below the crease of your lids, using a tapping, not a brushing motion. Keep the shadow away from the inner corners of your eyes and repeat the process along your bottom lash line. Your eyes will have a hint of sculpted definition, and your makeup will stay put. Finish by applying a gel eyeliner in Onyx along the top lashline, and using whatever is left on the brush to sweep along the bottom lashes as seen here.

Plan on trying this look on yourself?  Check out these products to create your summer smoky eyes.

Check Out This Sexy Makeup idea: Pair A Gray and Bronze Shadow

Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on 2nd June 2011

There’s nothing we like more than checking out celebrities on the RC. What they’re wearing, their hair, and of course the makeup. Olivia Munn happens to be one of our favorites, so we were excited to see her and get the scoop. Looking beautiful at an event for CoverGirl, we asked her about her eyes, since we were loving how amazing they looked.

0602-olivia-munn-brown-eye-makeup_bd.jpg
0602-gray-bronze-eye-makeup-look_bd.jpg

Nothing too elaborate, but the combination of colors just worked really well, and it’s a look that works on any skin tone. Yay!! On her top lids she had a gray eyeshadow blended into her lashline, and along the bottom lashes a beautiful shimmery bronze. She finished by sweeping a wash of the bronze above the crease and that was it.

Loving the idea of this pairing? Well, head over to our shopping section and pick yourself up some new shadows to play with! Right now get 3 smoky eye kits from beth bender beauty for only $72 (a $108 value). The Anniversary Set includes 3 smoky eye kits, ( nine shadows to mix and match) stencils, brushes, and a super cute silver foiled pouch so you can take them with you.

Jenny McCarthy’s Date Night Makeup Idea: Check Out Her Hazy, Sexy Eye Look

Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on 27th May 2011

If your long Memorial day weekend includes a night of romance with that special someone, then why not heat up your eyes too with this hot eye makeup look seen here on Jenny McCarthy.

The thing that stands out the most with her eyes and creates the hazy effect is the dark shadow in the crease. Although her eyeliner is slightly smudged, it is in fact the deep plum shadow that gets the credit for this super sultry look.

To recreate the look on yourself, start by lining your eyes in a black or eggplant eyeliner. Then dust a deep plum shadow over it, and into the crease of your upper lids, making sure to blend well. Finish by adding a lighter pink-beige shimmer on the eyelid, and a rose-gold shimmer above the crease to bring the look together.
