Rose Byrne of Damages was sporting a soft curly updo at this years 2010 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.  A good call to compliment her neatly sculpted eye shadow and eyebrows which as Beth says were “red carpet appropriate”. On Sunday Beth was behind the scenes making everyone beautiful and then covering the carpet, but this was one of her favorite looks of the evening and she wanted to dish.

“Rose was beautiful on the carpet and her makeup created by Chanel makeup artist Kate Lee was fabulous.” I loved her eyebrows and thought they definitely completed the eyes for a more polished look.”  To get the look Kate started with a layer of eye shadow base, and then added a layer of a gentle mauve pewter shade.

Next she added black liner under the lashline for depth, and then went back over the liner with a liquid shadow for added eye appeal. The end result was makeup that managed to get her noticed, and was still subtle at the same time.

Beth’s Beauty Tip: Ladies don’t poo-poo the idea of using an eyebrow stencil or eyeliner stencil for creating this look. I am a huge fan of both and it saves you so much time.

I’m sure it doesn’t take much to get Christina Hendricks ready for anything. She probably wakes up looking fantastic. For her Emmy night look, makeup artist Vanessa Scali created this soft, etheral look to match Christina’s Zac Posen gown. Here is all you need to know:

Face: Vanessa prepped the skin with Lancôme’s La Base Pro. To perfect Christina’s already luminous skin, Vanessa used Lancôme’s new Teint Miracle Lit-From-Within Makeup. “It has an amazing transparent quality that leaves the skin looking flawless and luminous without being shiny,” said Vanessa. “I applied it with a brush and then blended with my fingers.” Blending with her fingers heated up the foundation a bit, allowing for a seamless finish. Vanessa followed with Effacernes Concealer under the eyes, her “all time favorite concealer.”

Cheeks: For a fresh pop of color I used Lancôme’s Blush Subtil Shimmer in Pink Pool on the apples of her cheeks. Dabs of Giorgio Armani Beauty’s Fluid Sheer #2 highlighted Christina’s cheekbones.

Eyes: The eye shadow was mix of YSL’s Ombre Solo Eyeshadow in Cashmere Brown and Midnight Black. “I applied these all over her lid, under the bottom lashes and blended it out past her natural lash line to softly elongate the eye,” reported Vanessa.

Eye Liner: To define and elongate the lash line, Vanessa lined the eyes with Lancôme’s Le Crayon Khôl in Black. “I used a touch of liner under her bottom lashes but smudged it for a softer look,” said Vanessa.  For added depth, Vanessa used Artliner Precision Point Eyeliner in Noir at the very base of Christina’s lashes.

Mascara: Several generous coats of Lancôme Définicils Waterproof Mascara in Black were used on the top and bottom lashes.

Lips: Christina’s lips were a mix of Lancôme lip colors for an effect that Vanessa described as “red with a little dash of pink.” A sheer coat of Color Design Matte Lipstick in Corset was topped by La Laque Fever Lipshine in Cyber Coral.

Two of our favorite True Blood co-stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer finally tied the knot on Saturday at a beautiful home in Malibu. Yay!!! It was a private ceremony but of course the paparazzi was hovering near by to try and get a shot of the two during the nuptials and after.

The bride wore a Marilyn Monroe-style white halter dress, Neil Lane jewels and black platforms for the sunset nuptials and looked absolutely beautiful. Guests included True Blood‘s Ryan Kwanten, Sam Trammell, Rutina Wesley and Carrie Preston. Also there was Paquin’s co-star from The Romantics, Elijah Wood.

They celebrated with a reception at a beach house, where Moyer traded his dark suit for a pair of board shorts, and led the wedding party in for a celebratory dip in the ocean. The couple has been engaged since last August, when Moyer popped the question in Hawaii at Sandy Beach with a rough-cut antique diamond ring he custom-designed with Cathy Waterman.

We wish them a beautiful life together.

It’s been a while since we’ve shared the scoop from the red carpet on which celebs are loving beth bender beauty and her Get in Line Eyeliner Kit. So here we go………..On Sunday The Sisters attended and covered The Hollywood Breakthrough Awards in Hollywood.

It was a crazy night filled with lots of celebrities, media, and press all vying for a key spot on the Red Carpet, but it was the sisters who worked the room and managed to prop themselves right next to US Weekly, People Magazine, and Access Hollywood, charming every star who passed by, and later getting the ladies to each give a quote on the Get in line Kit and beth bender beauty.

Sofia Vergara, from Modern Family who was there to accept an award was stunning as usual. Not only is she gorgeous but she is the sweetest woman evah!! She loves makeup and the girls could have talked for hours, but time was precious since everyone wanted a piece of her. When they asked her what her favorite eyeliner kit was, without skipping a beat, she said and we quote in her sexy, latin accent, “come on girls, are you kidding me? I don’t go anywhere without my Get in Line Eyeliner Kit. I use it for lining and doing my cat eyes almost everyday. It is the best!”.  You heard it here first.

Dianna Agron from the hit show Glee was also there, and could not have been sweeter. Her Publicist, not so sweet but that didn’t stop the sisters from getting the scoop on her favorite beauty “can’t live without products”. According to Rose, the makeup artist on the show fell in love with the line and now she uses as part of her makeup kit. Very cool…

When it comes to hair, one of the biggest problems many of us face is how to keep it from getting too frizzy, and out of control. Depending on where you live this can be a problem all year long. We’ve all tried product after product and in the end still can’t get it right, so up into a ponytail it goes. But, what you may not know is getting your hair to look sleek, shiny, and frizz free is not just in the product, but also with the tools you use to style as well.

The good news is that a good blow dryer like the Super Solano, can help you to have gorgeous hair 24/7, and even when the humidity it wishing you didn’t:-) Hahaha. Hence my visit to the Prive Salon in Hollywood where I got the real scoop on how to get rid of the frizzes from Celebrity stylist James Carameta. He not only made my hair look amazing but it looked great for the rest of the week! Yay!!

James and I spent a few minutes talking about my hair needs, and of course I had my Super Solano 3700Moda and diffuser on hand for the lesson which he said was perfect for me and my hair.

After a quick wash and conditioner with Prive’s Concept Vert Shampoo & Conditioner, we were back at his station and onto the task of making my hair beautiful. No cutting was involved, but James is also a master when it comes to cutting, and he listens to what you want before a strand is even touched.

With my Super Solano 3700Moda dryer he began to dry my hair and I got his tips on how to style. While my hair was still wet he applied Prive’s Latest product from their Concept Vert Line, The Concept Vert Volumizing Froth which is a non-aerosol mousse. The whole line is absolutely amazing and it’s the only line I use on my hair.

The most important difference in using a blow dryer with Tourmaline is that the Tourmaline gets activated and releases energy in the form of ions. The ions are charged and help to eliminate frizz, thus leaving your hair looking shinier, and in half the time it would normally take thanks to the Ceramic and Infrared heat.

When styling your hair James said it was important to make sure and direct the winds from the blow dryer from the root to the ends blowing the hair back and away from the face. Doing this he said would help to eliminate the fly aways and frizziness. He also suggested using your fingers at first to begin drying your hair and then going to a brush.  Lifting the hair at the root and hitting it with hair will also help to create fullness and volume.

James finished my hair with a round brush and my Super Solano blow dryer which is the only blow dryer I have ever used, and it is definitely splurge-worthy! They are made to last, and the Ionic technology keeps your hair looking healthy, and shiny! I attended the Hollywood Break Through Awards last night in Los Angeles, and could not get over how shiny my hair looked in the photo’s.

James and I after my hair styling session and lesson. He actually added waves to my hair with his flat iron. I am still trying to master that skill but was totally thrilled with my hair, and without a stitch of makeup on my face I still felt like a million bucks for the rest of the day.

Purple eye shadow is becoming a favorite of celebrity makeup artists, and their celebrity clients. Julia Roberts showed up to her Eat Pray Love Red Carpet Premiere in NYC with Lavender lids, and Emmy Rossum showed off her aubergine eyes at the opening night of Trust in New York City.

A bold statement to some, but most makeup artists actually think of it as a dressed-up neutral. In Emmy’s case her makeup artist chose sheer hues with grayish undertones to keep the eyes from looking tired, and applied the color below the crease of her eyelids. A gel eyeliner in brown was applied along the lashline, and extended out at the ends to add definition to the delicate tone.

A simple but beautiful look, on or off the red carpet.
