Lady Gaga, though she’s already the self-proclaimed Mother Monster to her millions of fans, does envision herself having her own brood of Little Monsters in the future…just not yet.  The controversy-stirring singer, 25, opened up to Oprah Winfrey on “Oprah’s Next Chapter” and declared that she is looking forward to the wonders of motherhood.

“I want kids, I want a soccer team,” she told the talk show host, of her desire to have a large family. “And I want a husband. Well, I’m being superfluous. I don’t want to have one kid. I want to have a few.  I want to experience that,” she said, making an imaginary baby bump with her hands, before quickly adding, “but not yet.”

Her real name is Stefani Germanotta, and she told Oprah that their chat would be her last media interview for a while, and admitted that she is trying to be diligent about restricting her own media intake.  “The latest thing I do is I don’t read a damn thing,” she said of her decision to avoid tabloids. “No press, no television, if my mom calls and says, ‘Did you hear about?’ I don’t want to know nothing about anything that is going on in relation to music.

“I shut it all off.”

It’s no secret Jessica Simpson has a bun in the oven, but speculation she’s carrying more than one child is untrue, the singer confirms.

“No, it’s not twins,” Simpson told Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show” Monday. “I know it looks like it!”

The 31-year-old “Fashion Star” mentor, who is engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson, admitted that she’s nervous about giving birth.

“Labor is really going to hurt,” she told Leno. “I have so much respect for my mom and all the women across the world.”

Though she’s been famously touting her large baby belly around for some time now, Simpson assured Ellen DeGeneres that she is still weeks away from her due date.

“It looks like tomorrow,” DeGeneres quipped on her show Tuesday, as Simpson laughed and insisted she still had some time.

 

“I had contractions last night and I freaked out a little bit. You know those Braxton Hicks things,” Simpson said. “It’s like these contractions that pregnant woman have towards the end. It prepares your body for delivery. I’m prepared. It’s scary. It’s like, ‘Oh God, this can happen right now.’ ”

Simpson will also have to have some patience when it comes time for her second walk down the aisle.

“I want him to be my husband so bad,” the mom-to-be told Leno of Johnson. “I do still want to wear the pretty gown, so I have to wait.”

Simpson did admit, however, that though she is currently “waddling” wherever she goes, she hasn’t compromised her fashion sense in the process.

“I’m wearing six-inch heels today,” she said. “It’s a lot of weight to carry on six inches.”

We usually expect the worst when a celebrity walks into a courtroom.  Ever since O.J. Simpson made celebrity trials as interesting – if not more so – than their professional work, the public has found itself captivated whenever a big-name star stands before a judge in the past couple decades.  And, when this scenario occurs, nobody is surprised when the celebrity in question leaves court with a conviction.  Sometimes it’s simply a DUI or a drug abuse case.  Other times, it’s robbery, child abuse, or murder.  No matter what the circumstances, there are few things more public than a celebrity with legal trouble.

Lindsay Lohan knows this all too well. Her legal troubles began in the spring and summer of 2007, when she was arrested twice for a DUI – first in May and then in July. She was also charged with cocaine possession and driving with a suspended license at the same time. In court, Lohan entered a plea deal and agreed to extensive probation and community service so as to avoid a jail sentence. Over the ensuing three years, Lohan was in and out of court as she repeatedly violated the terms of her probation; she was cited for drinking alcohol, failing drug tests, and not taking her prescribed therapy and alcohol education classes.

Then, last February, Lohan stole a necklace from a Venice, California jewelry store. She was sentenced to a short jail term and to 16 hours of community service. That was the last time we heard from her.

So when Lohan returned to court this week, we understandably expected a new string of bad news. The only question was what that news was. Did she fail another drug test? Return to the jewelry store and steal black tungsten rings for men? Neglect her community service?

It turns out that she did none of those things. In fact, hell might have frozen over when the judge commended Lohan on her progress and said that she only needed 14 more days of community service and five more therapy sessions before her next hearing, scheduled for March 29th. If she fills these final requirements by that date, Lohan will walk out of court with her legal troubles hopefully in the past.

Lohan is scheduled to host Saturday Night Live on March 3rd, the first time since will have hosted since 2006, before her legal problems had begun and when she was still known as a successful actress. Does the return to SNL indicate that she’s come full cycle and that her court issues are firmly in the past? Only time will tell.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck will finally be able to add a little testosterone to their household, the happy Hollywood couple announced Tuesday.

Garner and Affleck, both 39, welcomed baby number three, a baby boy, in Santa Monica, Calif., a source confirmed to People.

The couple, who announced that they were expecting last August, already have two young daughters together – Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3.

It’ll be a new experience for the two parents, who have become accustomed to rearing their little girls, but one that they welcome with open arms.

Garner, who had previously said that she wanted a third daughter, told Jay Leno in January that Affleck was probably hoping for a boy – but could be swayed.

“I would have thought so. At first I think I really thought so,” she said when asked whether Affleck wanted a son. “And then he kind of said, ‘Well, we have girls. We know how to do girls. My girls love me. I’m the big guy in the house.’ So, now I’m not sure.”

Even Garner admitted that “it would be so weird to have a boy,” during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres. But, the “Alias” actress reasoned, it would definitely be “cool and different.”

At least the girls are already excited about the prospect of a younger sibling.

“Our girls are working on names,” Garner told Leno in January. “At first they were definitely Disney. It was like, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse Affleck.

“And then they’ve moved on. Then it was Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Smee.”

Jessica Biel should have worn her engagement ring sooner. A source who attended the “Saturday Night Live” after-party at Asellina early Sunday morning tells us that the actress’ engagement ring from Justin Timberlake, which she has never worn in public, was the talk of the soiree.

The guest says “SNL” alum Amy Poehler, who returned for a special appearance, and Kristin Wiig “loved the ring and chatted her up about it” at the Gansevoort Park hotel’s eatery.

Our insider says Biel and Timberlake — who reportedly got engaged in late December — were “very lovey” and “kissed a few times” at the shindig. The source adds that when Maya Rudolph, who hosted, made her entrance, she got a big round of applause from a crowd that included Jason Sudeikis, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Sports Illustrated cover girl Kate Upton and Evan Rachel Wood.

Straight up, Paula Abdul was furious about Simon Cowell ’s decision to ax her from “The X Factor.”

Two sources used the same term to describe the singer/dancer’s reaction to learning she would not be back for a second season: “used.”

While Cowell and fellow “X Factor” judge Antonio (L.A.) Reid participated in a conference call Wednesday to discuss the future of the Fox show, sources close to Abdul revealed her anger about being relegated to the past.

A source who worked with Abdul on “X Factor” says “Paula went ballistic when she found out she wasn’t back” and “told Simon that she felt used.” The insider says she “screamed” at Cowell and the producers. “She didn’t take the news lightly at all.”

After reports broke last month that Abdul had been cut from the “X Factor” team, she released a statement to the press.  “Yes, it’s true; I won’t be returning to ‘The X Factor’ next season,” her statement read. “I’ve learned through my longevity in this industry that business decisions oftentimes override personal considerations.”

Abdul added that “The X-Factor” team had been “communicating about this for a while now” and that she had “absolute understanding of the situation.”

Behind the scenes, our source says, “Paula’s [handlers were] working overtime to control her and begged her to release the statement rather than rant and rave on Twitter and online like she wanted.”  Abdul, says the source, finally relented after “an incredible amount of persuasion from her team.”

The insider says Cowell, who bickered constantly with Abdul when they co-starred as judges on “American Idol,” hired the pint-size former pop star “to see if she would help draw ‘Idol’-sized ratings.”  Alas, Abdul “started to crumble again under the pressure of shooting a television show” and began displaying “unpredictable behavior.”

The statement Abdul released also noted that “Simon is, and will remain, a dear friend of mine.” A second source indicates that much is true.  This person agrees that Abdul “felt used,” but also notes that Cowell’s decision to replace her was “purely business,” from his perspective.

“They were friends” after “American Idol,” says the second source, adding that they probably will remain friends.  Our first source also notes Abdul is “much better off not on the show and is starting to do much better than she was while shooting.”

During Wednesday’s teleconference, Cowell addressed a question about Abdul’s departure by saying that she, fellow judge Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones, who also won’t be returning “were gracious and respectful.”

“They are friends,” Cowell added, explaining that “our shows always have to evolve and in this case we did it sooner rather than later.”

“There wasn’t anything negative about them,” he said, noting “there are huge opportunities to work with all of them over the years and I think it will happen.”
