The Bender Sisters were literally on the Red Carpet at the Hollywood Break Through Awards yesterday at the Pacific Design Center on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood.  It was hosted by Heather McDonald from Chelsea Lately and sponsored by Crest 3D White.

Te-see and Beth were chatting up a storm with their new favorite heart throb Joe Manganiello of  HBO’s True Blood, who was the presenter for “break through in architecture.” The girls always enjoy meeting up with another “East Coaster.”  They had more fun in the cocktail lounge where they talked to Heather McDonald, Dermot Mulroney, Dianna Agron of Glee, Sofia Vergara from ABC’s Modern Family, Jonathan Cheban from E’s Spindustry, and 13 year old Cody Simpson!

This past Tuesday night at The Metropolitan in New York City, fashion designer Sue Wong, found herself amongst the fabulous stars and film makers of “Eat Pray Love,” starring the one and only Julia Roberts.  Sue looked magnificent as she gracefully made her way around the party.  Her new collection inspired by “Eat Pray Love,” is now available in all fine department stores nationwide.

When Sue was asked how she prepared for her collaboration and where she drew her inspiration from for her new Eat Pray Love Collection, this was her answer…

“I have always loved Indian culture, philosophy and in particular, Indian style… The textiles with gorgeous bead work and embroidery are based on vintage Indian saris, and many hours were spent in the research and execution of these textiles which bring so much rich color and texture, adding to the beauty and exotic flair of this beautiful, special, and limited edition of the Eat,Pray, Love Collection…”

“Pretty Little Liars” actress Lucy Hale made her mark on the red carpet at the 2010 Teen Choice Awards. mark Celebrity Makeup Artist Mai Quynh provided her expert makeup tips for recreating Lucy’s gorgeous look!

Mai Quynh Explains How She Created Lucy’s Red Carpet Look:

Eyes

“To begin, I used the mark Concealer Brush to apply the bronze shade from mark Keep It Going Longwear Eyeliner & Shadow in Surreal to her lashline and blended upwards to the crease. Next, I applied a top coat of mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eye Shadow in Gioia into the crease and smudged up to her brow bone. Next, I lined both her upper and bottom lashline with mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eye Shadow in Java using the mark Flat Eyeliner Brush. To add an extra hint of drama, I lined her inner lids with mark Eyemarker Color On Line in Jet and finished with two coats of mark Make It Big Lash Plumping Mascara in Raven.”

Face

“I prepped Lucy’s face by applying mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch Makeup in Golden with the mark Foundation Brush to even out her skin tone. Next, I dabbed mark Good Riddance Hook Up Concealer in Light/Medium under her eyes, blending it in with the mark Concealer Brush. For her cheeks, I used the mark Foundation Brush to apply mark Just Pinched Instant Blush in Peachy to the apples of her cheeks. I then dusted a light coating of mark Matte-nificent Oil-Absorbing Powder to eliminate any excess shine in her t-zone. I then swept a combination of mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder in Pro Golden and mark Glowdacious Illuminating Powder in Shimmied Up with the mark Powder Brush to accentuate the contours of her face and add a gorgeous radiance.”

Lips

“I used mark Juice Jems Lip Gloss in Juicy Fig to give Lucy’s lips the perfect amount of color and shine, without looking overdone.”

HOW TO GET LEA MICHELE’S HAIR LOOK

Celebrity editorial stylist Mark Townsend created a full, voluminous, summery hair look for Lea Michele. “Lea wanted to look modern and sexy and this bold style, with lots of volume and texture, was perfect for the Teen Choice Awards,” said stylist Mark Townsend.

Here’s how to get Lea Michele’s look:

• Shampoo and condition with Dove Damage Therapy Volume Boost Shampoo and Conditioner the night before to leave hair looking healthy and full of body
• Distribute Dove Body & Lift Volumizing Mousse throughout and blow dry hair with round brush to add lift
• Divide hair into 5 sections: 1 top, 2 sides, 2 back
• Apply Dove Heat Defense Therapy Mist to individual sections immediately before applying curling iron to protect hair against heat styling damage
• Starting with the back section, use a double barrel curling iron on 3 inch sections of hair, letting the curled pieces fall and hair cool without pinning
• Continue to curl the entire head using the double barreled iron to create figure-eight style waves
• Warm a pea-sized amount of Dove Frizz Control Therapy Taming Cream between the palms of hands.  Rake fingers through hair to distribute product evenly for shiny, beachy texture.
• Flip head upside down to slightly loosen up the look and spray Dove Unscented Extra Hold Hairspray with Natural Movement throughout

Lately it seems like every time I turn around Julia Roberts hair color is a different shade. For her latest role in Eat, Love, Pray she was blonde to play the part of Liz, and in this shot outside The Late Show with David Letterman this week her hair is red, and looking very festive for the summer weather in NYC.

Hmmm is there a Pretty Woman 2 in her future?

Her skin is glowing, and her color is almost making me want to give red another try, but red is one shade I’ve had on more than one occasion, and unless you have a team of colorists at your disposal, it is way too much up keep for even the most high maintenance gals like myself.

What I do love though are her curls, and how they frame her face perfectly. This is definitely a winner in the BSW beauty book, and for anyone who has ever wanted to do red, my advice would be to go slowly, and maybe add a few golden highlights like Julia’s colorist has done to soften the dramatic effect red can have on your skin tone.

What a mess this girl is…To go from super stardom at such a young age to crash and burn at 24 is just a total waste of a young life!  How many chances can one person get and still dive down…?

Lindsay Lohan in court not looking rather tired

Lindsay is looking very haggard and much older than her 24 years.  What will it take for this once very successful actress to get her life back on track?  As of July 20, 2010 she began her 3 month sentence behind bars for violating her DUI probation.  Anyone else would have been doing time immediately and for a longer period of time!  Get it together girl…

And here’s the kicker, because of over crowding, Lindsay might only serve 2 weeks at a regional detention facility in Lynwood, California and then head over to an inpatient rehab program for 90 days.  That’s BS folks!  If it were me or you our ass would be there for the full 90 days and then some!  People even think this will increase her popularity and bring her more money… Sad but probably true…

Not a great role model for the Youth of America

Unfortunately, if Lindsay doesn’t pull her head out of her ass, she most likely won’t see a very bright future.  Let’s hope she does…

The winner, Brandi Landry, submitted an inspiring story that captured the hearts of the Nexxus Facebook community. * Hair must be secured in a ponytail or braid before it is cut; and the cut must be made above the hair elastic.

* Hair must be at least 10 inches from the elastic to the tip.

* A ponytail should be placed in a plastic bag and then into a padded envelope.

* Include the official hair donation form – available at www.LocksofLove.org – to be acknowledged for the donation.
