If you have noticed, actress Michelle Williams hasn’t worn her hair long in at least five years and it’s all for love!

Michelle Williams keeps her hair short for love

Williams, who notoriously sports short hair, says she doesn’t plan to outgrow her locks any time soon, even though her 6-year-old daughter, Matilda, isn’t a fan of the current ‘do.  “What Matilda would love is for her mom to grow out the cropped hair, though that’s unlikely to happen any time soon,” Williams, 31, tells Elle U.K.

The reason behind her decision rests solely on the late Heath Ledger, Williams’ ex and father of her only child.  The “My Week With Marilyn” star reveals that the pixie cut stands for something much deeper.  Williams said,“I cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it.”

And Williams is well aware her tribute to Ledger, who died of an accidental overdose in 2008, can be unappealing to a majority of men who prefer longer tresses, but it’s her hair and frankly she doesn’t care.

“The only people who like it are gay men and my girlfriends,” she says of her pixie cut. “Straight men across the board are not into this hair!”  Williams has no future plans on changing her hair style.  “I’ve really grown into it,” she says. “I feel like myself with short hair.”
