Lately there’s been a lot of talk about the Do’s and Don’ts of shimmer in the BSW Beauty Dept, so we thought it was pretty super of Emma Stone to step out in an eye makeup look yesterday that demonstrates how to wear a lot of it without looking like a beauty mess. This happens to be a look she is frequently seen sporting on the red carpet, and one that suits her real fine. 
In order to create this kind of shimmer effect you have to layer the color as she did here, so she gets the effect when the light hits her skin. But very little when she is looking straight on.
And that’s really the key to keeping your shimmer looking glamorous, as opposed to looking like a freak show. In person, you’re going to want to temper it a bit more.
