How To Create Perfect Eyebrows Like A Pro

Posted by Lisa Wright on 26th September 2011

You must NEVER underestimate the power of the eyebrow.

-Jack Black

Picture yourself with the eyebrows of Cruella De Vil and then with those of  Marilyn Monroe.  I’m pretty confident you looked a lot more glamorous with Marilyn’s eyebrows. A well defined brow can definitely influence your level of attractiveness.  Creating the look of a younger more polished you! But, oh, the frustration of achieving the perfect brow!

We’ve all been there. Trying to create the “perfect brow” and instead creating an unrealistic arch that looks like that of  Ronald McDonald  or worse, Carrot Top.

BROWRAGEOUS!

This only puts us in a brow frenzy as we head for the beauty ammo.  We grab pencils, waxes, gels, powders,  tweezers and sealants. Some may end up so brow crazy, they’ll tweeze all of their eyebrows off until they look a Sphynx!   OR some of us have gone as far as tattooing brows on– eek!  This may work for a few people, but usually tattoos aren’t a good idea.

As the face ages, brows tend to take on a different shape.  Tattooed brows stop you from filling in the natural shape of your brow leaving you with an unnatural look.

What can you do to stop the brow mania???  Well, first-you need to find YOUR perfect brow shape and arch.

Grab a pencil, pen or anything straight. Take your chosen object and place it up against the outermost part of your nose and the inside corner of your eye.  This is where you eyebrow should start.

Next, place it at outer edge of your iris.  This is where your arch should start, and finally, the brow should end at the outer nose and put on the outer corner of the eye.   Mark all of these areas.  Now, Place a stencil over the areas you marked as your perfect brow.  I recommend Anastasia’s eyebrow stencils for a perfect arch every time!

Then finally, use a tinted brow gel and fill in the brows.  I can’t recommend strongly enough Per-fekt Beauty’s brow perfection gel.   Per-fekt Brow perfecting gel I’m in love with this stuff!  Its an easy alternative to all those brow waxes, pencils and powders.  It effortlessly fill in eyebrows making them naturally full. Any bare spots will just disappear!

It tames the eyebrows and the color is perfect.  And I cant forget to mention, it’s water sweat transfer resistant!  You’ll have your brows all day!  I do recommend getting a shade lighter than the color of your hair.  After they are shaped and you have filled in your color, remove the stencil, and pluck or trim any strays that are not in your perfect brow and Voila!  How Browliciously stunning you now are! =)

How To Clean Up A Messy Smoky Eye Using An Eye Cream and Q-tip

How to beauty tips Anneticipation.wordpress.comIt’s always helpful to learn from your mistakes, because then your mistakes seem worthwhile.

-Garry Marshall

Nothing worse than completing your makeup for a special occasion then messing it all up with a smear of mascara!  Have no fear- mascara mishaps are easy to fix….but skip the MAKEUP REMOVER!  The biggest mistake most girls make is turning to a dab of remover on a q-tip!  Instead grab your favorite eye cream…….just a dot on the tip of your q-tip will dissolve any mistake you make, without removing more than you want.

The trouble with removers is that they often smear farther than that tiny spec you are trying to remove.  Then the troubled spot continues to grow, and not only is the spec gone but so is your concealer, foundation and anything else that was in its path.  So next time you have a little makeup snaffooooo….reach for the eye cream!

PRO TIP:

  • When creating a dark smoky eye, apply eye makeup BEFORE concealer and foundation.  This will allow you to wipe away any dark shadow that might fall under your eyes BEFORE applying your under-eye makeup.   It’s a great technique that not only saves time, but also product!

Stay Gorgeous Girls!

xoxo

Matin Maulawizada, Global Artistry Director and Brand Ambassador for Laura Mercier, explains how he created the star’s makeup look that added a feminine sweetness to the actress’ sexy and sophisticated gown.

Eyes:
Because pure black liner could look harsh against Liv’s fair skin and light eyes, Matin lightly defined her eyes with Laura Mercier’s Kohl Eye Pencil in Black Gold, $19.
He then subtly enhanced the eyes using Laura Mercier Metallic Crème Eye Colour in Rose Gold, $22.

Lips:

Laura Mercier’s Gel Lip Colour in Dollface brought a fun and youthful pop of color to Liv’s face. “Liv loved the Laura Mercier Gel Lip Colour,” said Matin.

Face:
To ensure Liv’s look lasted in the unexpectedly humid New York City weather, Matin prepped her skin using Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, $30

Liv’s peaches and cream complexion was perfected with Laura Mercier’s Crème Smooth Foundation in Warm Ivory, $50

Carrie Underwood Hits The Red Carpet With Bangs!

Posted by BSW Buzz on 26th September 2011

Carrie Underwood arrived at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Friday, after keeping a low profile on the red carpet all summer long.  And to step it up a bit, her hair was sporting a new look…Bangs!

Carrie Underwood showing off her new look...Bangs!

This 28 year old, country music star, traded in her signature middle parted hairstyle for some rounded eyebrow-grazing bangs and a very sleek and shiny blowout.  She wore an all-black outfit of sequined shorts, a tank with silver chain embellishments, black booties and long dangling earrings.  A little more rock n’ roll then country…

This two-day concert, where music’s biggest stars like Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, the Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay, David Guetta, Alicia Keys performed, also included a kick ass performance by Underwood.  She is almost done wrapping up her fourth album and is now getting ready to host the Country Music Association Awards with the handsome country superstar Brad Paisley.

Can’t wait to catch it on the tube!!!
