Stumble It!Spartacus Star Andy Whitfield Dies At Age 39

Sad news today regarding the passing of TV’s Spartacus: Blood and Sand star, Andy Whitfield. The 39 year old actor was with his wife and children by his side Sunday when he died in Sydney, Australia. He had been battling non-Hodgkins lymphoma for 18 long months.

Andy appeared as the main gladiator the first season of Spartacus and was replaced the second season after he was diagnosed. This handsome actor was born in Wales, and had previously appeared in Australian TV shows Packed to the Rathers and McLeod’s Daughters.
His wife, Vashti Whitfield, said “that he passed peacefully surrounded by love and thanked all of his fans whose love and support helped to carry him to the end. He will be remembered as the inspiring, courageous and gentle man, father and husband he was.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Andy Whitfield’s family…He will be missed…BSW loved him on Spartacus and no one will be able to replace him…
