Shimmer on the eyes can be complicated, but a smoky eye without it tends to loose the glam factor and we can’t have that. The question is, how to look glamorous, yet sophisticated and mature? Well, in the case of Olivia Munn at InStyle‘s Annual Summer Soiree she got it just right. Her hazel eyes were the inspiration for her makeup look.

To get the look we asked celebrity makeup artist Beth Bender to give us her tips. “Bronze and gold tones are beautiful on both dark and light eyes, to accentuate them even more try using shades of shimmery gold, copper and brown together.”
Start by lining your eyes with a chocolate brown pencil. Next apply a suntan shimmer in the crease and sweep underneath the eye as well. Round out the eyes with a metallic bronze shadow—smudging under bottom lashline, and in the crease, but the outer eye area only. Otherwise the look will become too muddy.
