Kristen Stewart Rocks A Super Burgundy-Bronze Eye Shadow

Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on June 23rd, 2011

Oh the life of a Hollywood starlet. Running from film set to film set, making lots of money, and in between hitting the Red Carpet for a night out on the town. In this case the 2011 Los Angeles Film Festival. Sounds like a job for me. And if Kristen Stewart is any indication of how fabulous it is she sure did prove it in this picture. Not one for heavy, over-the-top makeup moments, that is unless she’s playing Joan Jett, which is why the look created for her hit all the right notes and had us singing her smoky eye praises.

Kristen’s eyes were done using a burgundy and bronze shimmer shadow, but the application is the key to getting it just right.  To create Kristen’s eyes we asked our celebrity makeup artist Beth Bender how to get the look. To start, using a bronze shimmer shadow, apply the color along the eyelid and blend with a medium size eyeshadow brush while moving upwards towards the brow bone.
Follow with a burgundy shimmer shadow applying it only to the outer corners of the eyes, and below the lower lashes to add depth. “Blending is very important especially when using colors that are darker” says Bender. To highlight the browbone you can add a beige shimmer or leave as is.
Finish the look with a sexy black eyeliner, Gel liner is perfect since it doesn’t budge, and a very black mascara.
