3 Easy Steps To A Super Sexy Smoky Eye

Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on March 7th, 2011

When makeup artist beth bender first launched her Get in Line Eyeshadow & Stencil Kit back in 2003, she had no idea how many women would come to depend on it to help with the task of creating eyeliner, and smoky eyes. Call it color by numbers, and while many of us have outgrown that pastime, when it comes to doing a sexy smoky eye, or cat eye, some of us still need all the help we can get.

So, with a little help from The Get in Line Kit and its smoky eye stencil we broke down the easiest way to create a smoky eye that will have the pro’s wondering how you did it.

1. Starting with a clean eye, place the stencil marked Smoky Eye over the eyelid and hold in place.

2. With your free hand, dip the brush into color shadow and sweep inside of smoky eye shape. For a more intense look, add more color. Remove stencil.

3. make sure to wipe the fuller end of brush before applying the base shade. Apply color to the brow bone and blend into the crease of eye for a finished and beautiful smoky eye look.

Repeat the same steps on the other eye making sure to wipe the Smoky Eye Stencil with a tissue before placing over the eyelid.

Upgrade your eyes: For an even more dramatic look use the same smoky eye stencil and place it under the eye to add eyeliner. Line the rim of eyes with a black or charcoal water proof eyeliner (our absolute favorite is benefit’s BADgal Liner) and with the smudge tip blend into the powder shadow for a smoldering effect as seen here.

Voila! Your final look should come out looking something like this:

To get the look check out the BFF Smoky Eyeshadow Kit or the Original Get in Line Smoky Eye and Stencil Kit. Both come with a set of eyeshadow stencils.
