THE LOOK: A Modern take on 50′s chic

THE BSW SCOOP: “The designer told us she had a dream about the Irving Penn woman, so it was already decided that that would be the look for the show,” Lewis told BeautyStyleWatch. It was a polished, elegant look, not a trend-driven one. The girls wore sleek, high ponytails that were rolled under and pinned with a long, silver barrette in front. Really quite beautiful.

The makeup took a more stand-out approach, with metallic lilac eye shadow and a major swoop of cat-eye liner. Garland called it an “Audrey Hepburn/50′s debutante look.” To complete the look she added a gorgeous pink lip and a few false lashes at the outer corners of the eyes for drama. Needless to say it was right on the mark.

GET THE LOOK – HAIR: All hair products by Bumble and Bumble. Lewis prepped the hair with Thickening Spray before blow drying straight, he then pulled it up into a high ponytail. He added a silver barrette to section off the top-middle section of hair and then smoothed the sides with De Mode Hairspray. The ponytail was rolled under and secured with pins. A small section of hair was left loose to wrap around the ponytail elastic.

GET THE LOOK – MAKEUP: All makeup was by MAC Cosmetics and the look was created by Val Garland. She used Mega Metal Shadow in Dalliance on the lid, adding Paint Pots in Lilac Metal and Dangerous Cuvee to the crease. She defined the cheeks with Cream Colour Base in Mid Tone Sepia, and for the pink lips, she used a new product called Kissable Lip in Vanity Fair which she patted down for a barely there lip color.
