When it comes to colorful eye makeup this spring, overdoing it is an understatement, and can make the difference between looking like you mistook your blush for eyeshadow, or getting it just right. When working with brighter, stronger hues, it’s always best to layer the color so you get the perfect application.

Celebrity make-up artist and beauty expert beth bender suggests starting first by lining your eyes with a waterproof black pencil, her favorite is benefit’s BADgal eyeliner, followed by rimming the eyes with a light blue pencil. Continue by sweeping your choice of a blue-green shimmer shadow, or bright blue shimmer shadow over your lids. “Shimmer shadows are a lot easier to work with and for first timers will be easier to blend if the color becomes too intense” say beth. “I like to use the On the List, or Girls Night Out kits because they include softer shades that allow you to build the color, and the shimmers are easier to apply.”
Make sure to avoid getting too close to the brows, which can end up looking very theatrical and definitely not glamorous. Instead apply a lighter shimmer shadow on the browbone blending into the crease.
Beth’s Beauty Tip: “I like to use my fingers to apply the first layer of color, especially if it’s a shimmer and then go back and blend with a brush”. Use a Q-tip with a drop of eye cream to clean up any eyeshadow that may have fallen, and before applying concealer. You can add a few individual lashes at the ends of each eye for added glamour.”

Lauren Conrad has come such a long way from her start in reality TV. A hot new selling book, a clothing line, and the face of mark cosmetics keep her very busy, but not when it comes to sharing her favorite beauty must-haves. She reveals the secret behind her perfect golden glow in the latest issue of Instyle. “I have tried at least 20 self-tanners! Dior makes a great one that isn’t too orange,” she tells the magazine. “I always test a small area that I can cover up if need be. It is all trial and error.”

The former Hills star doesn’t bat a beauty lash when it comes to her face, and has indulged in oxygen facials and laser hair removal, saying she’s done everything, including her at-home tanning session, and manicures which she also does herself.
To find out which beauty products she can’t live without, check out this months issue of InStyle.

It’s coming girls…the hottest styles from the gals of Sex and the City 2. Thanks to the styling talent of Patricia Field, these Manhattan babes will be sporting some jaw dropping looks that may or may not have you running to the stores. It has been said that production cost for wardrobe alone was over $10 million…Ouch! Let’s take a look see…

Do we love or hate this outfit from Sex and the City 2...
This outfit, blouse & skirt by Zac Posen, t-shirt by Dior, kinda flirty, kinda fun…Not sure if I’d wear it…like the colors…

Another Carrie Bradshaw look...
Now this is more my style…love the purple dress and how it moves as she walks…Also love how Carrie’s face is glowing…You can get this look using Darphin Aromatic Renewing Balm, retails for $70.

The girls from Sex and the City 2
I don’t know girls…Carrie’s herum look is not working for me and Charolette’s dress looks like a table cloth from an Italian pizzeria…

Finally, the girls looking fab!
Now this is more like it…my favorite NYC girls are dressed in styles that coin the true meaning of “style.” Get the girls pouty lips using Stila Lip Enamel Luxe Gloss, available at Sephora.
