After her break out role in Juno as the flirty and quirky best friend, Olivia Thirlby will be steaming up the screen in the romance Breaking Upwards as well as the dramedy Solitary Man. At 23 years old, Olivia no longer has to fight for auditions.  Since co-starring in Juno, the offers keep coming her way…

Solitary Man has an all star cast including Michael Douglas, Danny DeVito, and Mary-Louise Parker.  It will be in theaters on May 21, and tells the story of Ben Kalmen (Michael Douglas), a fifty-something year old New Yorker.  Breaking Upwards is a funny and hip indie film about relationships.  Olivia told BSW that even though she is good friends with director/costar Daryl Wein and his girlfriend (whom the story is about), “it was easy working with them since the movie is pretty much what they really went through!”

Keep your eye on this gal…she’s on her way…Upward!

Now a days it is so important to eat healthy and exercise.  But if you are one of the many who purchase your produce in the grocery stores then you are a walking contradiction.  Unfortunately, grocery store produce is covered with unhealthy pesticides and God only knows what else!  You can wash it with Veggie Wash found at most grocery stores including Whole Food Stores, but why do that when you can grow your own organic veggies and fruit yourself?

Last year I decided that I no longer wanted to eat vegetables and fruit that was not organic.  So, I put my husband to work.  He planned, strategized and then planted…Our organic garden was overflowing by July with tomatoes, arugula, cucumbers, snow peas, green beans, carrots, zucchini, beets, strawberries, green peppers, jalapenos, cantaloupe and corn.  After eating all of these home grown items, I could no longer fathom eating anything from the store.  I was on my husband to replant for Fall/Winter!  And this time I wanted lettuce!  And guess what…living in Los Angeles I got my wish!

Now even more Celebrities are joining the “organic wagon.” HBO’s Entourage star Emmanuelle Chriqui, serves as an ambassador to the Environmental Media Association, is involved with the Yes To Carrot Seed Fund, and Los Angeles Unified School District to support organic gardens in LA urban schools.  Other celebs involved include Olivia Wilde, Rosario Dawson, Amy Smart, and Lance Bass.
