Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara is one hot mama who has an 18 year old son. She recently met up with BSW at a celebrity event and gave us her personal insight to beauty…

We asked Sofia our BSW staple question…What is the one beauty item you can’t live without? Sofia’s answer, “La Mer, for my body and face. It keeps my skin soft and supple.” Sofia also mentioned how much she loves our resident makeup artist Beth Bender’s “get in line kit.” She uses it every day to get her perfect cat eye. And the one item Sofia never leaves her house wearing is lipstick…this girl won’t even go to the gym without it…lol:)

For most women, the biggest fear that comes along with being pregnant is weight. “How much will I gain”…and the $10,000 question…“How quickly will I lose it?“ The most logical way to approach any pregnancy is to eat in moderation and exercise…even if you walk around the block several times a day, it is better than nothing!

I’ve had 2 children and gained 25 lbs. during both of my pregnancies. Going to the gym was already part of my daily regime, so I kept on going until my 9th month. I normally eat 2 meals a day, but while pregnant found myself eating 3 since the alien growing inside me needed to eat as well! However, I never used the excuse that I was eating for two, just so I could feel better about over eating. A BIG MISTAKE, ladies…

When I first discovered I was pregnant I immediately put away all my skinny clothes…that image was no longer a reality for the next year…So, why frustrate myself? This baby was going to change my body whether I wanted it to or not! (my personal philosophy for both pregnancies)…I tried to be realistic during these long grueling months…I ate well and exercised until the doctor said, “Te-see, enough now…” LOL…I was doing sit ups in an upright position…Laugh all you want like my sister Beth, but next time you run into me ask to see my abs…:)

After giving birth, get yourself back into the gym once your doctor gives you the thumbs up. Don’t allow yourself to sit while you adjust to your new baby. Eat smaller meals if breast feeding and DO NOT SNACK…If you choose to bottle feed, then go back to your normal healthy eating habits…no in between meals, girls…you’ll be sorry. Your weight gain will take twice as long to lose. Unfortunately, some women have a harder time losing weight after multiple births. This is why I can’t stress enough, the importance of exercising before, during & after each pregnancy!
Be smart girls…Remember what you eat during pregnancy will still be well distributed on your body even after you push out 7-10 pounds of baby, including the placenta!
