Our Favorite Beauty Looks: Oscars 2010

Nicole Richie took her signature cat-eye makeup one step further by layering a thick black gel liner with shapely silver and deep gray shadow. She added a strip of false lashes to finish her starlet, ’60s-inspired look, and we just loved it! Making them the most dramatic eyes of the evening.

Red Carpet Beauty How To: To get Nicole’s Cat Eyeliner, start with the eyeshadow first. Apply a pale silver shimmer to the eyelid, followed by a dark gray shadow in the crease, and extending the color so it ends right below the eyebrow. Try the BFF Smoky Eye Palette, and use the Cat Eyeliner Stencil included in the kit for creating perfect eyeliner just like Nicole’s.
Once you have done eyeliner on both eyes, have the desired thickness, and point, using a black gel eyeliner trace over shape to set the color, and prevent smudging. Try Stay Put Gel Eyeliner in Onyx.
Our other Favorite Red Carpet look last night at the Oscars was Sarah Jessica Parker’s gorgeous hair, and tons of it! This look totally worked, (although many thought not), and we liked her Chanel Haute Couture gown that was simple, yet so complex at the same time with a one of a kind neckline. Stacked bangles and large cluster earrings added more bling to her mix, and perfectly applied eyeliner made her stunning green eyes, even greener. The artfully woven pieces showed off her impeccable hair color, which was a blend of honey and rich brunette.
Note To Our Readers: Last night in Hollywood the weather was touch and go. The rain thankfully did not come, but many other sites not based in Los Angeles were commenting on Ms. Parker’s fly-away’s, and if you looked closely there were many other ladies who had the same problem. As far as the buns go, we think it was a smart move considering the mess that could have been if it had poured as predicted by our fabulous weather people.

I really loved Sarah jessica Parker’s hair and thought it went beautifully with her gown. Some people can’t help themselves when it comes to negative comments.
Fabulous post and great content.

I was actually surprised to see Nicole Richie there but she definitely looked red carpet ready as you gals would say.
Do the cat eyeliner stencils really make it that easy to do eyeliner? They looked just perfect.
You ladies must have lots of fun covering this.

Hi Elizabeth:
Thanks so much for your comment. The cat eyeliner stencils really do work. I don’t know how Beth did it but she designed them to fit any eye shape. They are a soft plastic and very easy to adjust. I use mine almost everyday and get so many compliments. I am like a walking advertisement for the Get in Line Kit. Lol.
