Best Beauty Looks At The 2010 Oscars: Sexy Cat Eyes
Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on March 7th, 2010
Since early this week, television crews, and correspondents from all over the world have been claiming their territory on the red carpet to cover this years Academy Awards. Held at the Kodak Center on Hollywood Blvd for close to 10 years, and in just a few short hours it will be filled with celebrities galore. Our favorite part of the entire evening at BSW is of course the glorious ‘red carpet’. So special a name, it deserves its own definition in the dictionary, and may in fact already have one.
Many of the women attending tonight have been getting ready since early this morning, with hair, makeup, nails, styling, and let’s not forget all of the treatments prior to even today. Whatever looks you will see tonight, will be featured on every beauty site, beauty magazine, celebrity gossip show, and of course our favorite magazine for celebrity coverage, People, by weeks end.
The beauty will probably bare some resemblance to looks seen at last falls spring fashion shows, so look for smoky eyes in pinks, purples, light blues, and blues, skin that shimmers, and is flawless skin, and bright lip colors in pinks and reds. Emily Blunt who looked just lovely at this years Golden Globes may decide to do her beautiful cat eyes since they were such a hit. Blunt’s lavender hue was the ideal compliment to her light green eyes, auburn hair and fair skin, and her perfectly applied cat eyeliner pulled the entire look together.
To get the look without a makeup artist standing by, our celebrity artist Beth Bender of Beth Bender Beauty suggests trying two or three shades of lavender from the same color family. “Apply the lightest shadow to the inner corners of your eyes, the medium on your lids and the darkest along your lashline.” Beth Bender Beauty’s Spring Trio Palette in OMG! or TDF,($36, bethbenderbeauty.com) “does the work of matching a pink, purple and lavender for you,” says Bender.
But, for the ultimate Cat Eyeliner as seen here on Emily, you must check out the Cat Eyeliner Stencil that comes with the palette. It does the sexiest cat eye ever in under 30 seconds flat. You can use an eyeliner sealant to keep the liner from smudging, or go over the shadow with a gel liner once you have your cat eyes finished.
See you on the Red Carpet!

Hi Beth!
I just purchased your OMG! eyeshadow kit and was wondering if all three colors were shimmers? They look so beautiful on Emily but it is hard to tell.
I can’t wait to receive. I just love this look.

Hi Karyn:
Thank you for your comment! You are going to love this kit and eyeliner stencils. The colors are gorgeous. The pink and the plum are shimmers and the violet is a matte shadow. Let us know what you think when you receive.

Love these colors. Will they work on skin that is darker? I would love to buy for myself but would love your tips on choosing the right shades.
Thanks so much.

Hi Janet
On darker skin they are beautiful too, but you make like the LOL Kit which has similar colors. Let us know if you have any other questions.
