The last few weeks in Hollywood have been filled with one red carpet event after another, and although we can barely keep both eyes open from all of the writing we have been doing, listening to a celebrity sing the praises of BeautyStyleWatch, and beth bender beauty is one story worth writing:-)

Like finally getting to meet Fergie at this years Grammy’s, only to find out she has been a fan of the Get in Line Eyeliner & Stencil Kit for over two years. Ah ha….so that’s her secret to the sexy cat eyes she so often wears. Demi Moore, who just recently was introduced to the beauty line by her manager, loves her Red Carpet Beauty On The Go Pouch, which made it’s Red Carpet debut for the movie premiere of Valentines Day. She also checks in regularly to BSW for a quick read, and to see what’s new.

And Mrs. Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter also of Dexter Fame, at the SAG Awards wearing her “Who Me” Glam Gloss and”Navy Gel Eyeliner” from the Red Carpet Beauty On The Go Pouch. Jennifer has BSW bookmarked, and loves the fashion week coverage, as well as all of our red carpet stories.

Smokin’ Smoky Eyes At Diane von Furstenberg

Backstage at the Fall Show for Diane von Furstenberg the makeup look was all about the eyes, but not just your typical smoky eyes, these were sensational! Lead makeup artist James Kaliardos created “iridescent smoky eyes inspired by butterfly metamorphosis and peacock colors, and we watched in awe as he created the look.

Diane Von Furstenburg Fall Fashion Week 2010

To start he applied a veil of black cream liner as an eyeshadow, spreading it across the lids from the upper lashline to the crease. Next using a smaller shadow brush he blended the color up to the brow bones, and then applied the black cream liner along the lower lash line, with a winged out ‘cat eye’ at the outer corners.

M.A.C. Pro Loose Pigment in Steel Blue was applied below the lower lashline, and a brighter cobalt blue was applied to the inner corner of the upper lids. He dabbed M.A.C. Pro 3D Glitter with a pointy brush just in the inner corners of the lids, and  finished his ‘butterfly eyes’ with a generous coat of rich black mascara.

BeautyStyleWatch Backstage At Zac Posen

The Zac Posen show is always one we look forward to, and we were especially surprised to see so many models on time for the early 7:30AM call. When we arrived the backstage scene was already packed, one of the models was catching a few zzzz’s while getting her hair done, and the beauty team was already beginning the transformation of turning these sleeping beauties into super models.

Odile Gilbert was on hair, Stephane Marais on makeup, and Deborah Lippmann, the ‘nail guru’ made sure every nail was a perfect blushing pink.

The look was “cool, downtown girl”, and the makeup did not disappoint. Marais smudged both kohl liner and cream liner on the upper and lower lids to create a “bigger, mysterious, and more dramatic, fierce smoky eye,” that was still slightly sheer. Just gorgeous! Then he muted the lips with concealer, and did a light application of M.A.C. Hipster lipstick with a dab of Dubonnet in the center of the lip. The finished look was “super sexy, I just rolled out of bed and still look gorgeous.”

To create the look on yourself, our in-house makeup guru says ‘don’t struggle with the task of doing a smoky eye in creams alone’, and if you do, make sure to set with a translucent powder, or shadow of the same color to ensure your look not smudging. Remember these looks are created for the runways so you will definitely need to do a beauty adjustment.

Check out the Get in Line Smoky Eyeliner Kit for easy smoky eyes.

Quinntin Phelps Backstage At Cushnie et Ochs

Posted by Quinntin on 15th February 2010

Two fashion diva’s to reckon with. In a day when women are more powerful then ever, Cushnie et Ochs fashions complete the story. At their latest show during fashion week, Cushnie and Ochs showed an array of gorgeous designs. This was by far one of their boldest collections, strong and sexy.

BeautyStyleWatch at Cushnie et Ochs

It was a very dark collection, focusing on a mixture of fabrics, such as lace, leather, silks, and embroidery. Body conscious seems to be the last word, as the models strutted down the runway in fitted skirts and form fitted trousers, accompanied by their signature cut outs.

The collection was accessorized with super high wedge heel angle boots, tasseled hair pinned up by Julian for Bumble and Bumble, and make-up by Sara for Mac cosmetics.

The look was all about the eyes, as Sara used several earth-tone shades, calling the finish, “elegantly disheveled”. To perfect the look, Sara completed the lips with lip erase.

The nails were a huge success with designs by Patty for Dashing Diva, chrome nails with crushed glass on top. Yes, you said it “smashing!”
