It was 5pm in Los Angeles…the Bender Sisters were ready and eagerly waiting at Lucy’s 51 on Riverside Drive in Toluca Lake to get their party started.  They were chosen to host a “Dove Girls Night Out” to help promote Dove Visibly Smooth deodorant.  So, the girls invited several of their friends to hang out, drink, eat, and ride around Hollywood for 3 hours in a white stretch limo driven by Greg…what a grand way to spend the night…

Soon after the girls arrived, Te-see passed out dove visibly smooth for all of them to try.  The comments were flying around the lounge about how much they already loved Dove products and couldn’t wait to try the deodorant.  Vanessa was our delovely waitress and had drinks in our hands in seconds…followed by an array of delicious appies…we were surrounded by laughter and girlie chatter…so much FUN!

Before long, Greg our personal limo driver for the night, was ringing my cell…he was out back waiting for us “hot mamas” dressed in designer jeans with stylish tops & of course…the proper accessories…to climb aboard.  We thanked Vanessa profusely then headed out the door a bit silly & giddy with excitement…

We slid our little fannies onto the long leather seats and made ourselves comfy for our tour of Hollywood. Beth wanted us to crash the American Idol taping, Joanie & Rachael wanted to hit the dance floor at Opera off of Hollywood Blvd., Marcie was up for anything…and Deb and I were just happy “not to be driving…”

After seeing an endless amount of people driving & talking on their cell phones without headsets, we headed over to where the action was.  We drove past Grauman’s Chinese Theater, the infamous Hollywood Blvd. walk of Stars, Sunset Plaza, Urth Cafe, and all the hot clubs on Sunset Blvd where the “fools” were waiting on line to get in…Finally, we ended up at Solstice Cafe on Cahuenga Blvd. and Franklin Avenue to wind down our night with coffee talk…

The cute young barista not only served us coffee & pastries but he was kind enough to take this picture!  Greg was waiting for us out front and before we knew it, 20 LAPD cop cars came flying by blocking off Cahuenga Blvd…A man on foot was up to ‘no darn good’…we were sitting in the limo watching police car after police car whiz by.  It was so exciting…each gal had her own theory about the “perp” which added even more excitement!  The limo was buzzing with female energy (good thing we had our Dove Visibly Smooth on hand)…Greg confidently drove the limo away from this “Hollywood scene,” and headed back to Lucy’s as the night came to a close…

Celebrities Come Out For The Heart Truth Show

Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on 12th February 2010

All the stars were out and looking gorgeous for a good cause at the annual Heart Truth Red Dress Collection show that has become as big as fashion week itself. Surrounded by a stunning Swarovski crystal set, this years celebrity beauties walked the walk in custom shoes from designer Brian Atwood.

Heidi Klum Heart Truth Red Dress Collection

Heidi Klum closed the show in a gown from John Galliano. “I loved that the dress is sexy and slinky,” she said. “It shows the curves, but not too much.” Everyone has their own flair and their own way and they blow kisses and they do funny things, said Klum when asked about the other celebrities walking the catwalk. This is about these women being here and having an important message”, and in keeping with this theme, a number of dresses will be up for auction in support of women’s heart health awareness on clothesoffourback.org.

Kim Kardashian blew kisses in a goddess-style Marchesa gown. Her cupid’s target was of course aimed at boyfriend and professional athlete Reggie Bush.

The Dashing Diva team was backstage with celebrities Heidi Klum, Joan Collins, Kim Kardashian, Felicity Hoffman, Pauley Perette, Regina King and many others, not only to create gorgeous nails, but also to raise awareness for heart disease in women. Celebs chose from a variety of red (and some black!) Dashing Diva polishes, their favorites included, Big Apple Red, The Red Carpet, and Love Hate Relationship seen here.

“This is such a noble cause,” said actress Mamie Gummer, daughter of Oscar winner Meryl Streep. “It was an easy decision to walk.” She wore a ’70s-inspired single-sleeve design from Michael Kors, which suited her slender build.

“I’ve always wanted to rock the runway,” admitted Jordin Sparks. “The fact that Heidi Klum is going to be here with so many great women in entertainment? Hopefully I’ll do her proud.” The singer made her catwalk debut in a gorgeous Badgley Mischka gown, and did the super model proud:-)

Lady Gaga Kicks Off Fashion Week In New York

Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on 12th February 2010

Lady Gaga launched fashion week with a spectacular performance, and a daring new look, at Wednesday night’s amFAR charity gala. Always the beauty and fashion envelope pusher, and this night was pretty outrageous with a mask of powdered pearls adorning her face and body.

The pop sensation first wowed the star-studded crowd, which included Heidi Klum, Zoe Saldana and Chloe Sevigny, with her ivory bikini, captain’s hat, towering stiletto boots and her powdered, pearl-encrusted face and body.

Then, she hopped atop a rotating white piano and sipped a cup of tea before launching into the blush-inducing lyrics of her song “Future Love.” The only thing that was missing was Elton John joining her. The singer and newest face of MAC’s Viva Glam campaign later returned to the stage to accept an award on behalf of Elton John and David Furnish, and was praised by fellow MAC spokesperson Cyndi Lauper for her philanthropic efforts.
