Cat Deeley’s emerald dress worn to a Professional Dancers Society ball in Los Angeles was the inspiration behind her smudgy kohl-lined eyes, but even with all of the beauty products available, she and her makeup artist opted for using an eyeliner stencil to create the look.

A kohl-lined eye was the perfect compliment to the sweetness of her dress with a touch of rockstar. To create the look, start by Lining the upper and lower lids with a black pencil, we love benefit’s BADGal Waterproof liner in black. It is the best eyeliner evah and does not smudge or budge! At BeautyStyleWatch we usually give the raccoon-eyes a big beauty thumbs down, but at the premiere of The Stepfather in New York City, Taylor Momsen proved us wrong, and made us believers with her star-stopping eyes. According to beth bender of beth bender beauty, “it’s not so much the end result, but the tools used that can make the difference between raccoon, and eyes that are simply dazzling like Taylor’s seen here on the red carpet.”

To create the look, beth suggests using a soft brush to blend a matte slate, or charcoal shadow all the way around the eyes and up into the crease, it’s almost a smoky eye, but not quite. “The most important thing is to not go overboard and to keep the under eye color from going too heroin chic.” Use a sheer mineral powder, and with a blender brush sweep a bit of powder along the liner to catch any color that may fall.

Use an eyeliner stencil for a straight and even line on the top and bottom, and finish by smudging with a soft brush to soften the look.

Lauren joked, “I don’t know if I can travel with these shoes! If security saw them in the x-rays they would consider them a deadly weapon!!”

Selena Gomez, Style Ingenue Award winner, looked stunning in a black dress with exaggerated shoulders, and large cocktail rings, a jeweled clutch, and black wedge shoes. Her makeup was clean, but beautiful, with a tight black eyeliner, and a rich red lip color that pulled the whole look together.

Sophia Bush, who presented Max Azria with the award for Fashion Visionary, stole the show at the Hollywood Style Awards with her one-of-a-kind Max Azria lace dress, which Azria handmade for her especially for the event. While presenting the award to Azria, Bush was almost in tears and mentioned that he is like family to her.

Bush’s top pick beauty picks for the evening were the new dark nail polish that looks black but up close it’s really purple from the OPI manicure station, and the newest eyeliner kit from beth bender beauty in Good Girl, Gone Bad. “I love, love, love, the colors in this kit, and definitely need to be a little bad now and then”, said Sophia.

The former Miss USA, actress, TV personality, and gorgeous mother of 3, Shanna Moakler, has just launched a new cosmetic line called Smoak which is smokin’…She created the line with the assistance of her personal makeup artist Daniel McFadden.

Her launch party was held just the other day at Cafe Wes in Hollywood.  A fabulous & quaint little French Bistro on Vine Street with Brett Young singing live and press flashing away.  Her makeup line ranges from shadows, lip plumpers, face & eye primers to sinfully soft brushes made of goat hair.  There are no chemicals, dyes, artificial fillers, preservatives or synthetic ingredients.  Smoak is fragrance free, oil free, and used no animal testing in the creation of the line.

How to “get Shanna’s look” by celebrity makeup artist Daniel McFadden. Daniel started with an eye primer on Shanna’s sexy eyes and brought it up to her brow.  With a fluff brush he applied a matte charcoal shadow to her lid and blended it to the crease.  Then he used a shimmery silver over the charcoal to tie in her silver dress with a gray blue to define her crease and blended it with a frosty white up under her brow.  He used his own black gel liner on the inside of Shanna’s lower eyelid & blended outside the lower lid with the same silver eye shadow from the upper lid.  Followed by tons of individual medium size lashes with long lengths on the ends to create a cat eye.  Daniel then filled her brows with a taupe shadow using an angle brush then coated them with his blonde brow fix to hold them in place.  For foundation he used Bio-Fond by Gerda Spillmann.  According to Elizabeth Taylor, it covers a multitude of sins!  This cream is applied with a damp sponge.  He used Limelight around the top of Shanna’s face to give a touch of color then blended Truffle around the lower half to blend into her neck shade. Daniel finished by sweeping a soft coat of loose powder over her entire face to seal the foundation.  A little Pink Ice Blush over the apples of her cheeks then Shanna finished her own lips with SMOAK lip liner, lipstick & gloss.

Last night Star Magazine celebrated their 5th year as an upscale, glossy magazine at Bardot Hollywood.  All of Young Hollywood & some not so Young Hollywood attended including Lo Bosworth, Brooke Hogan, Asher Book, Andrea Bowen, Madeline Zima, Shane West, Haley Webb, Cobra Starship and many more. As we stood out in the rain interviewing the up and coming stars it was easy to see who would soon rise to the top…

One young star in particular caught my attention.  She is known for her role on Desperate Housewives as Eva Longoria Parker’s saucy niece.  Take note my friends…her name is Maiara Walsh. A young beautiful girl with style, sincerity, and no attitude.  “A breath of fresh air” in today’s celebrity world.

Maiara prefers to use Loreal eyeliners and shadows.  Her favorite mascara is by Maybelline but she was curious how I got my lashes to look so WOW!  She is a bargain hunter when it comes to clothes and prefers being comfortable.  A big fan of skinny jeans and t-shirts.  Maiara can pull it off with her slender figure and long legs.  We both agreed that baggy is not a good look for us thin chicks!  *FYI she does not have a favorite designer or celebrity crush:)

Now Gilles Marini was some looker…with a sense of humor.  Originally from Cannes, France, Gilles made his debut as the sexy hunk living next door to Kim Cattrall (Samantha) in “Sex In The City” movie. He was also on “Dancing With The Stars” and can now be seen on “Brothers and Sisters.” Gilles had a great sense of humor and thought of himself as an ugly George Clooney…I beg to differ!!!  His favorite designer is Giorgio Armani.  He told me in confidence that he didn’t know that it was a big event and apologized for dressing in jeans.  Please…he would look good in a paper bag:)

Once we were done on the Red Carpet we headed upstairs for some fun and live music by Cobra Starship.  Covergirl had photo booths set up so Joanie (my partner in crime) & I had a blast making silly poses!  Facebook here we come…the club was packed and cocktails were garnished with lipstick. Who could ask for more…
