Rachel Bilson’s eyes continue to create a buzz wherever she goes, and women everywhere want to know how she gets them. I don’t think I have ever seen her eyeliner not look perfect, and it has become her signature look. She continues to give us her sexy eyeliner and occasional smoky eyes, and according to Rachel, it takes only minutes to do.

We caught up with Rachel in NYC during Fashion Week, and got the real scoop on how she gets ready for the camera, and red carpet events. It will make you happy to know there is no beauty team, only Rachel. “I like to keep things simple. My typical look is just Chapstick, blush, eyeliner, and a little mascara,” said the star, who added a little taupe shadow in this shot.

To get the look, start by lining the rim of eyes and dotting in between the lashes using a waterproof eyeliner pencil like benefit’s BADGal  Waterproof liner in black.  You can smudge or leave alone. Then with an eyeliner stencil, place the stencil above your eye and with a small shadow brush apply color along line. Repeat the same underneath the eye using the bottom eyeliner stencil. This will keep the color as close to the lash line as possible like Rachel’s seen here.

If you prefer your liner a little thicker at the ends, go over the liner starting at the middle of eye and out towards the end. Set with an eyeliner sealant or leave as is. To complete the “Rachel Bilson Look”, apply at least one, to two coats of black mascara, starting at the base of lashes and working your way to the tips. Glee actress Lea Michele seen here with fabulous lashes, has done just that by adding a few single lashes to both eyes. “Lucky for Lea her lashes are incredibly long on her own” says beth, so a few is all she needs. If they aren’t, a great tip for faking dense lashes before adding the individuals is to dust them with translucent powder and then add your mascara. “It makes them look bigger and longer, and gives the mascara something to cling to.” It also creates a nice base to slip the lashes into so no one will ever know they’re not yours.
