Even on those hot summer days a sexy black liner is a quick beauty task to pull your look together and get you to the party on time! To prevent smudging try a waterproof eyeliner like Benefit’s BADgal Waterproof Eyeliner in Black. It has a smudge tip on one end to soften the line and give it an even more smoldering effect.

To create the look with ease and give your eyes a smooth, continuous black line like Emma Stone seen here, pull the skin taut from the outer corner of your eye with one hand, and with the other hand, gently draw a thin line from the outer to the inner corner. The pencil should be as close to the lashline as possible so there is no space between the eyelid and lashes.

Use the same technique to get a thin black line along your lower lash line as well. If your eyes are smaller make sure and taper the liner so it fades from the center of eye towards the inner part of eye.

Once your liner is done you can finish by setting with a colored eyeshadow underneath and above the eye. For perfect eyeliner that takes seconds to do use an eyeliner stencil on the top and bottom. Simply hold the stencil in the desired place along the lashline and sweep across the eye with your shadow.

If you’re anything like me then you’re always on the hunt for a fun, hip bar/restaurant in your local area where you can escape with the girls and NO KIDS are allowed.  Us moms need a safe refuge where we can rediscover ourselves and speak & act like adults…

I googled and googled and nothing came up using…or should I say nothing exciting.  Then I tried best “happy hour,” and BINGO…hit the jackpot.  Lucy’s 51 popped up onto my screen.  Best part…NO KIDS & happy hour was from 4 -7:30 pm.  WOW…so off I went.

The decor was dark, lush, and ornate.  It had a lounge like feel with small pillow top tables and comfy couches, several booths that were located along the large open windows and overlooked the outside patio/sidewalk.  In the back of the bar/restaurant were tables & chairs and the bar ran alongside the entire right side of the space.  People were laughing and chatting with the bar tenders as well as the waitresses.  Clientele consisted of locals from the surrounding areas of Toluca Lake (including all of the studios).

The manager Ludwig was on top of his game.  He had no problem accommodating our large party of 9 when we had to move from the lounge area, boo-hoo:(, to a table in the back because it had been reserved.  (He made it up to us though with shots & dessert for all!!!) Their happy hour menu included 1/2 off all drinks and appetizers.  My choice of drink was an apple martini…2 die 4…then we ordered sweet potato fries for the group which rocked my world!  The time flew by and as we finally departed from our fun filled evening we were already deciding when we would be back!
