Since becoming a beauty junkie and loving it, I have been totally on the BeautyStyleWatch prowl for any products to make my lashes crazy long and thick. I am obsessed with my feet and have been for as long as I can remember. I made the move from NYC to Los Angeles almost 4 years ago and since then have gone from high heels to flip-flops, and am even more obsessed with my feet if that is possible. So, it was with great excitement when my Pedi Spa Pedicure arrived in the mail, and I am pretty sure my tootsies were just as excited!

My boyfriend who since meeting me 7 years ago has also become fond of his feet and we couldn’t wait to get those 4 AA batteries in and give this baby a whirl!

The Viatek Pedi Spa comes with 2 attachments, a non-abrasive stainless steel rotary blade for removing dead skin layers without damaging healthy skin, and an ultra fine rotating emery board which smooths and finishes rough skin. After I had my Pearl Laser/Pearl Fractional treatment I had to use an SPF of 50 or more on my face before I even walked out the door.  There are so many to chose from and prices can range between $8 to $50 dollars.  I didn’t know which one to use…And I definitely didn’t want one that had too much zinc.  Zinc doesn’t absorb into your skin and it leaves your face looking pasty white.  Not necessarily good for olive skin.

Most of us don’t leave the house any more without putting SPF on our faces and covering our bodies from head to toe at the beach.  But are we really getting the coverage and protection we need?  Do we even know when to re-apply???

Well, the guessing is over.  There is now an easy-to-use wristband to tell us when to apply sunscreen and when we need to run for cover…UVSunSense wristbands when worn not only allow for more accurate application of suntan lotions, reduce the risk of deadly skin cancer but they also prevent you from long-term sun damage.

The UVSunSense wristband technology was developed by a nuclear physicist to measure ultraviolet or UV radiation present in sunlight.  This unique band has 4 stages of color that indicate changing conditions and how the user should adapt to the exposed sunlight.  When the band is removed from the packaging it is orange. Well girls, although we just plunged into summer…believe it or not Fall is right around the corner.  Ugh!!!  I love summer but I am a Fashion Diva and need to be prepared.  So, here we go…

Fall 2008 was Gray…and I’m not talking just the weather!  This Fall 2009 the color is Black. The good news is that charcoal, gray, and navy blue are also included in the color scheme!  Yay…Now if you are from New York this is not a huge step since most of your wardrobe is black to begin with…at least it was while I was working there.  It was very hard for me to cross over to color once relocating to Hollywood.

Here are some of the styles they are showing for Fall 2009:

Erdem Moralioglu the British designer is showing lots of floral mixed with dark rich colors.

New York is sporting the tuxedo look in black…of course…A simple cut that can take you from Fifth Avenue all the way down to Soho.

Another New York trend for Fall 2009.  This jumpsuit will make you look taller and leaner…what else could you ask for girls?  And it looks rather comfy too…

Vera Wang steps it up a bit mixing textures and light color skirt with the darker simple top.  This could be worn to work (depending on what you do…) as well as out for cocktails or whatever else you’re up for:)

The good news is that most of us can find several black pieces already in our closets and we will only have to accessorize them and find a few extra stylish tops and/or bottoms to mix and match.  It’s all about the accessories any way girls…they can make or break an outfit!

Sunscreen, Are you wearing yours? If not you really should be. As good as the sun feels when it hits your face and body, the damage and havoc that is does to your skin can be permanent and not pretty at all. Sun damage, skin cancer, wrinkles, discoloring, should I go on?

I know you’re probably thinking who needs this, but I promise you, if you take the few extra minutes to apply sunscreen to your face and body everyday, you will be thanking yourself years later when your skin still looks great.

This doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the sun, and believe it or not even with an SPF of 30 or higher you will still get color. One of my favorite sunscreens that I don’t ever leave the house without is my Double Defense from Somme Institute.
