Wednesday evening I attended the MTV Los Angeles premiere of Adria Petty as in Tom Petty’s daughters documentary about Paris Hilton, aptly titled “Paris, Not France”. The documentary gives you a first hand look at Paris Hilton in everyday life, and how she became a huge celebrity, and successful business woman. The paparazzi was a-buzzing and the red carpet was filled with celebrities who posed for pictures as they made their way inside the theater.

We arrived minutes before the movie began, and as luck would have it were sitting right behind the Hilton clan who were there to support Paris. Mom and Dad, Nicki who was also in the doc, and auntie’s and uncle’s. We were sitting with the Tom Petty clan and said our hello’s before the lights went down and the movie started.

An hour later and my opinion of Paris Hilton had totally changed from “who can take this girl seriously” to “hmm….not so dumb after all”. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised by her candid honesty, and actually felt empathy for her which I never thought possible. Also featured in Paris, Not France and who was seen getting Paris camera ready, was celebrity artist and friend Jake Bailey. I spoke to Paris at the after party and told her how much I enjoyed the documentary.  I also told her that her real voice which is actually a lot deeper suited her much more. She was very sweet and thanked me again and again.  She told me she loved my shoes, Betsey Johnson of course which happened to be very similar to the ones she was wearing. From one sweet diva to another I felt good that I was able to have a moment in the midst of the party and celebrate the movie as well.
