How To Get Sultry Smoky Eyes For Summer
Posted by The Girls in the BSW Beauty Dept. on July 6th, 2009
If sultry smoky eyes that are more suitable for summer are what you crave, then take a cue from Diane Kruger. Not only is she standing in front of a spectacular sunset, but her eyes look like they took their cue from it as well. Smoky eyes don’t always have to be dark to make a statement. Silvers and warm earth tones work just as beautifully.
Our celebrity makeup guru Beth Bender says to get Diane’s look with ease, start by Lining the eyes with a rich silver eyeliner and use warm, earth-tone shadows like brown and rose in place of gray which will complement a tan. “You can sweep the hues beneath your lower lashline and up to the crease on your upper lids” says Beth which will also allow the eyeliner to bleed into the shadow creating a more smoldering effect.
She suggest her Santa Fe At Sunset Smoky Eye Kit that includes a warm brown and rose gold shimmer for summer smoky eyes. Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Dime is the perfect silver liner to compliment the Santa Fe Kit, and it stays put all day long.

Love her eyes. My coloring is slightly darker than Diane’s, would the Santa Fe At Sunset Kit work for me as well?
Great tips!
Thanks!!

Santa Fe At Sunset looks beautiful on darker complexions as well. My skin has yellow undertones and my coloring is olive. I wear it throughout the year and love it. You can mix the lighter colors in the palette together with the chocolate brown or alone to create different variations that look great.
