New Body Care Line Featured On Oprah

Did you know that the shea nut is very common in Africa and that during the rainy season they fall from the trees and the local Village women gather them. Shea butter is actually created by the hands of these women who labor for hours to produce this highly sought after miracle ingredient for pennies.
While serving as a Peace Corps volunteer, Rahama Wright, Shea Yeleen’s executive director came up with the idea to create a nonprofit organization to help the poorer West African regions. Rahama’s mother’s side of the family was from Ghana which was why she was always interested in poverty issues. “I became inspired by the women there who have these tremendous challenges in terms of poverty, but at the same time, have so much beauty and joy and inner strength.”
Shea Yeleen International has made it their mission to help the women in the villages of Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Mali by training these gals to produce high quality, natural shea butter. This is the main component used in their decadent high quality body care line that is now available for sale in America. Fifty percent of the profits go back to these African Communities to further empower these women and to help provide for their families.
Last November, all of Rahama’s efforts to help these African women led her to become one of 80 winners in the first ever leadership training contest spearheaded by Oprah: Women Rule! O’s White House Leadership Project Contest (which over 3,000 women applied).
