Last Sunday during the MTV Movie Awards here in Hollywood, Te-see and I had the pleasure of spending the evening with celebrity artist Jake Bailey, and MAX Factor’s go-to beauty accomplice to the stars.

Jake’s journey to celebrity artist was no overnight success as some might think, born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Jake was inspired at an early age by the beautiful women in his family and the makeup they used to transform themselves. He began to get involved in local plays at school, and in the community, as well as becoming the makeup guru backstage. At the young age of 18, he touched down in NYC in the mid-nineties where he literally began pounding the pavement, and with one goal in mind, to perfect his craft and pursue his career in beauty.

As luck would have it, during a night out at the then famous Bowery Bar in Manhattan he spotted Kevyn Aucoin and without hesitation went up and introduced himself. of course Kevyn being his usual sweet self was flattered by Jake’s eagerness to become a successful artist, and asked him to apprentice him  where he learned the art of makeup artistry from the ground up, working vigorously at New York fashion shows and events.

After working with Kevyn for a year, he was ready to break out on his own and signed with one of the biggest agencies for makeup artists. Desiring to work on red carpet beauties and add glamour to his body of work, Jake moved to Los Angeles to create gorgeous looks for celebrities that let their own individual style come through, but still have the Jake Bailey touch.

Jake has become one of the industry’s premiere celebrity makeup artists in Hollywood and New York. He has worked with almost anyone you can think of, including Angelina Jolie, Kyra Sedgwick, Mandy Moore, Brittany Snow, Paris Hilton and Katherine McPhee to name a few, and most recently was named MAX Factor’s Celebrity Makeup Artist. He continues to create stunning looks from the red carpet, and is always happy to share his best tips, and tricks for beauty.

We just loved Jake, and felt like we had known him for years. His passion for creating gorgeous looks, and his love of color have inspired women everywhere to  have fun, and create their own person style, on and off the red carpet.

The hottest stars came out to celebrate Hollywood’s rising talent at Hollywood Life’s 11th Annual Young Hollywood Awards in Santa Monica on Sunday night, and the Bender Sisters from BeautyStyleWatch were there! The event took place at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica, and thankfully it was a beautiful evening with no rain.

Hosted by Lara Spencer of The Insider, the awards were presented by today’s top celebrities and recognized the outstanding accomplishments of each emerging artist. Called the “Oscars of Young Hollywood”, and once again taking the lead in showcasing the future of Hollywood’s best and brightest, and of course what red carpet event would be complete without all of the looks, from clothing, to hair, makeup, and shoes.

Chelsea Hobbs Of ABC Family's "Make It Or Break It"

First to make their way down the pretty RC was the cast from the upcoming TV show “Make It Or Break It” premiering on ABC Family. All very sweet and very excited to be a part of the evening. Chelsea Hobbs seen here looked beautiful in a dress designed by Raphael Sinomo, and we loved her bright red lips. Ed Westwick, Bar Refaeli, Steve-O, Rumer Willis, Madeline Zima, and Katharine McPhee weren’t far behind.

Other Celebrities in attendance included: Adam Lambert, Catherine Hardwicke, director of Twilight, Emile Hirsch, Evan Rachel Wood, Patricia Clarkson, AnnaLynne McCord, Joely Richardson, Shawn Johnson, Kellan Lutz,  Ari Graynor, Peter Sollett, Q’Orianka Kilcher, Philippe Cousteau, Columbus Short, Jamie Chung, Michael Clarke Duncan, Naturi Naughton, DJ AM and many more.

The event was sponsered by Sebastian, who was also backstage   pampering celebrities with Sebastian Professional Hair Care products, and gifted by top sponsors such as Tree Hut, Onitsuka Tiger, jetBlue, EOS, Jem Sportswear, and Fake Bake, which I used that evening to give my legs a natural looking tan. The  pre-ceremony cocktail reception was fabulous, and Te-see and I were loving the specialty cocktails by Alizé!

Gossip Girl’s bad boy Ed Westwick was the perfect gentleman and though he is just as polished and refined as his character Chuck Bass,  a little stage fright kicked in as he stumbled on his words during his acceptance speech when thanking his presenter Madeline Zima, who looked like a goddess in this lilac gown.

AnnaLynne McCord was so grateful for her Superstar of Tomorrow Award presented by her Nip-Tuck co-star, Joely Richardson, and  thanked her, expressing how much it meant to her especially with the recent loss of her sister Natasha.

Twilight hottie Kellan Lutz and supermodel Bar Refaeli were so famished during the ceremony that as soon as they were off stage they made a b-line for the mini-sliders. Yes, I know it’s hard to believe, but even super models eat, and let me just tell you, Bar looked beautiful and has curves like most women do. News flash..the days of heroin chic, ninty-pound models are over.

A wonderful evening was had by all, and we were thrilled to be there in the mix enjoying all of the fun and excitement!

Evan Rachel Wood looked very grown up, and very glamorous at last evenings Young Hollywood Awards, in Santa Monica.  Every time I see her I have to remind myself that she is the same little girl from Practical Magic, and a long list of other films as well.  She has become a seasoned pro on and off the red carpet, and always shows up ready to strike a pose. Her beautiful and very sexy smoky eyes get the BeautyStyleWatch thumbs up, and Beth and Te-see were there to see all of the celebrities make their way down the famous red carpet.

According to Beth, “Evan’s look was classic-chic Hollywood from her dress, to her hair and of course her make-up”. “Her skin is like porcelain, which in this case was a gorgeous canvas for her striking smoky eyes”. Violets, Silvers, and turquoise all favor a lighter complexion, and even more so if your hair color is strawberry blonde or a shade of red.
