Smoky eyes seem to always make their way on to the red carpet, and in the case of Elizabeth Banks seen here at an event it was hard not to notice them. They were sultry and smokin’!

When creating a look like this keep the skin simple and fresh using a matte or sheer foundation depending on your complexion, for warmer weather a tinted moisturizer works well too. To create a sultry, smoky effect on the eyes use a combination of burgundy and violet shadows and apply to the lid and crease blending well. Accent the top and bottom lashline with a water-resistant gel liner in black, and smudge slightly with brush before it dries.

To give your smoky eyes an even more sensuous look, use a black waterproof eyeliner and line the inside rim of eyes. Not sure of how to do a smoky eye? Use a smoky eye stencil and do it with ease.

When doing a look like this where the focus is on the eyes, I recommend keeping the rest of your face soft and dusting most of the shimmer powder off your brush before sweeping it over your skin. This will stop you from applying too much color to your cheeks.

Finish with a pink or nude beige lip to give the eyes a perfect beauty balance.

Her eyes look gorgeous. I just went to the Bettes Boutique site. Does the Whatever Lola Wants Eyeshadow Kit come with stencils? I would love to be able to do a smoky eye.

    Thanks

    Hi Kathy:

Thanks for the comment! Yes, all of the eyeliner kits come with one set of eyeliner stencils. I use mine everyday to do a cat eye. Takes about one minute to do.
