JUVEDERM IS THE HOTTEST FACIAL FILLER

Posted by Te-see on 20th February 2009

Tired of looking tired…want to put a little pep in your step…then Juvederm could be for you.  Today Beth and I met with Dr. Celia Brown to talk about fillers and get Beth’s labia folds in her face filled with Juvederm.

Beth was so excited to look years younger.  Dr. Brown explained that as we age our face gets thinner and loses volume.  Juvederm is a temporary fix that lasts any where from 8 – 14 months.  “It works best with the structural parts of your face since they don’t move and they are easier to fill,” said Dr. Brown.

Click on the photo below for Beth’s Juvederm step by step procedure with Dr. Celia Brown.

Peace & Gotta Love Those Fillers…

Beauty Count Down To the Oscars

Posted by Te-see on 19th February 2009

So here we are, another year and the final event to celebrate this years very best films viewed by millions. The Oscars are as you know a big to do here in Hollywood. Streets have been shut down, blocked off and traffic has been nothing short of a nightmare. With that being said it is also a very exciting time especially for us beauty and fashion bloggers who are lucky enough get the inside scoop on how celebrities attending this years Oscars get ready for the big night.

One of the most popular treatments that many celebrities make sure they take care of days before are their Botox injections. Many do it for their frown lines between the eyes, and just as many for an instant brow lift with no surgical downtime. Celebrity Dermatologist Dr Celia Brown, and a true artist when it comes to injecting the face is an expert on anything you want and need to know about Botox. As most celebrities will tell you, Botox can easily become your BFF for life, and with all of the snapping that will be going on this Sunday as each celebrity makes their way down the glorious Red Carpet, a wrinkled forehead or sagging eyebrows will just not do.

A fabulous facial to get rid of flaky skin and give your complexion a gorgeous glow is next on the list of “To Do’s” to prepare for Oscar night. We have a very close source who tells us that Angelina Jolie is crazy for her facials and by the looks of her radiant skin it seems this is so. Our favorite Skin Care Guru and owner of Wildflower, Pamela Ford-Stevens is an expert when it comes to making the skin glow, and has been creating quite the facial buzz here in Hollywood.

Her facials are done in a peaceful oasis for any woman who needs and deserves a little pampering. My sister and I both got to experience her unbelievable facials first hand and are now her newest fans. Pamela’s mantra is: All facials are customized for each person and their unique skin type and needs using the highest quality ingredients.  There are no add-on’s or extra charges. You get exactly what you need each and every visit.” If you love your skin the way so many of us do, then you’ll definitely want to make an appointment and see Pamela ASAP.  Don’t blame us if you fall in love with her facials:-) She is a gem!

Mani’s and Pedi’s are an absolute must have for this Sunday’s event. Nothing worse then finger nails that haven’t been groomed and look dingy. Why bother with the gown if the nails haven’t been done. Nettie Davis who is a celebrity manicurist here in Los Angeles, and creator of NettieScrub will be working around the clock to make sure Hollywood’s Glamour Gals have star-stopping nails that look beautiful.

Nettie uses her own products that she developed herself on each of her clients. Nettiescrub contains only the best elements of natural ingredients including vitamins, minerals, and oils with delicious fruit extracts.  Her fabulous collection of products include exfoliants, body balms, soaps, and soy candles. The body balms leave your hands looking and feeling beautiful.

Many men and women will be indulging in the latest treatment to lock in shine and color. CJ Cassaday of the Gavert-Atelier Salon in Beverly Hills says the best way to achieve this is by doing Ionic Hair Treatments. This will ensure that your color and style look best under the camera lights. Applied with a flat iron it takes about 30 minutes after your color is done. This treatment consists of releasing moisture, protein & silicone to the hair, and bonding it to the hair shaft with the right temperature of the flat iron.”

According to CJ this treatment will increase the thickness of your hair without losing body, and make your color & hair look and feel its very best. Sounds like a treatment for me:-)

Of course we can’t forget all of the men that will be making their way down the Red Carpet too! Our sister from another mister and Celebrity Men’s Groomer Diana Schmidtke says “put down the gel please” and she is not kidding. “Nothing worse than a head full of sticky, stiff hair” says Diana. Her list of male clients including Mr Clooney above all look beautiful when Diana gets finished with them. They may look like they just rolled out of bed, but believe me they’ve been pampered too. Diana is also the spokesperson for Axe Hair Products for men, the best products for getting “Girl Approved Hair”.

And what event would be complete without some smoky eyes and cat eyes making their way down the Red Carpet. Eva Mendes & Penelope Cruz love their cat eyes and we never get tired of seeing the most striking, and cringe at the ones that fall a little short. Oops…many of the celebrities will be bringing us their sexy eyes and their Stencil kits along for quick touch ups throughout the evening. This year Red Carpet Ready will be joining them and as my sister always reminds me “It’s like having a makeup artist with you all night long”.

So there you have it. Just a few of the things celebrities will be including on their Oscar check list for getting Red Carpet Ready this Sunday.

Hope to see you there!

xx,

BINACA FASTBLAST TO GO!

DOES YOUR HAIR GET THE RAINY DAY BLUES

Posted by Te-see on 17th February 2009

Lately it seems like rain is always in the forecast…a little too much for my liking…and lets all agree that this is Not Good for your hair.  There’s just too many styles that DO NOT look good in the rain.  And if you have curly hair like me…don’t even think about straightening it.  A complete waste of time.  As soon as you walk out the door it’s frizzy and curly all over again!

Well, CJ Cassaday, your hair stylist to the stars has some tips that will make you have “happy hair.

For curly hair he suggests applying a curl enhancing cream like Morrocan Oil. It’s designed for those who like to let their hair air dry.  Simply apply the Morrocan Oil to towel dried hair.  Activate the curls by scrunching your hair with your hands and go!  My kind of style…Your curls will be soft and separated not stiff and crunchy.

For straight hair CJ suggests Myrrhea Silkening Fluid by Renee Furterer. It’s your best protection from humidity since it controls frizz and volume leaving your hair feeling ultra smooth.  It also has thermal protection for when you blow your hair straight so you are doubly shielded from the harsh weather and potential heat damage!

If your hair is really not having a good day CJ’s tip is to make a low pony tail at the nape of your neck, twist it up towards your crown then use a medium to large clip to hold it in place.  Let the ends cascade over the top…maybe add a couple of stylish hair sticks or use a fancy clip.  And you’re off…Sounds good to me…

Thanks CJ!

Peace, Love and Happy Hair!

Get Red Carpet Smoky Eyes For Anytime

Posted by Te-see on 17th February 2009

At this years Oscars all eyes will be on the makeup, hair and fashion. Not necessarily in this order but all will be equally important. Already here in Hollywood publicists are working overtime to make sure their celebrity clients are booked with the best of the best for hair and makeup. Treatments for skin and tanning sessions have been set up weeks in advance, and their gowns are under lock and key until the moment they step into them and step onto the red carpet.

This is an exciting week in Los Angeles leading up to the grand event, and most of us know at least a few people in the film business which makes it even more fun.

We don’t think Hilary Duff will be attending this years event, but since she is one celebrity who gets the most attention when it comes to her smoky eyes we thought we would show you how you can get them and without the help of a makeup artist. How cool is that! Seen here is the newest kit, Red Carpet Ready just in time for the Oscars, and for those loyal celebrities who can’t live without their Get in Line Kit.

The Get in Line Smoky Eye & Stencil Kit gives you sultry smoky eyes and cat eyes in minutes just like Hilary Duff. The stencils do the work for you and instead of eight or nine steps and too many tools, one stencil and a brush is all you need. Choose from over eight different trio’s and the original kit which is already a “must have” beauty item with beauty editors everywhere.

As my sister Beth always says “baby, you don’t need a Red Carpet to be sporting red carpet smoky eyes”, and she should know since she is busy as we speak creating star stopping eyes on someone special:-)

LATISSE OR NOT LATISSE…THAT IS THE QUESTION…

Posted by Te-see on 16th February 2009

Well, if you haven’t heard by now…the news is out…Allergan has released their new eye lash grower Latisse.” I’ve been waiting patiently for 2 years!!!  And now my waiting is over…

Now, back in the day when I was young and dumb my friend Monica Segner talked me into curling my eyelashes and wearing waterproof mascara…OMG!  What a disaster…my lashes have never been the same since.  There was nothing I could do about it back then.  Technology was way behind and choices were limited.

By the late 80′s early 90′s I had been introduced to false eye lashes by a fabulous make-up artist who did my face for a film where I played a sexy chauffeur.  I was hooked…unfortunately, the glue wasn’t my friend…the result was sparse eye lashes.  They were even worse then before…so, I accepted my fate and continued looking for a mascara that would cover my lousy eye lashes and give them a “some what full look.”

Many decades later several companies released eye lash growers, Jan Marini, Revitalash, just to name a few.  Tried them both and saw a little growth.  Then news came out that Allergan was in the process of clinical trials…which meant they were in the works of releasing the ultimate eye lash grower yet.  The key ingredient that Latissecontains is lumigan which was originally used to help glaucoma patients.  These patients were finding that their eyelashes were growing at such length they had to cut them…imagine that girls…I could only hope that my lashes needed to be trimmed!

Any way, I’ve been using it faithfully every night for almost 2 weeks.  Latisse is only available with a prescription.  This is to ensure proper application and growth.  If you are interested in getting a prescription call Dr. Celia Brown at: 818-222-8232

One week after Latisse is applied:

16 weeks after Latisse is applied:

I’m so excited to get my lashes to this length!  I know it will happen and will post my results after 16 weeks are up!!!

XOXO

TE-SEE’S WELLNESS JOURNEY CONTINUES

Posted by Te-see on 14th February 2009

Wellness Watch…

Well, gang…when I last left you on my road to “Wellness” my results were in.  Aster informed me that as healthy as I thought I was my liver was not functioning properly.  It was not detoxifying anything.  “Think of a toilet full of waste that keeps swirling around the bowl but never actually goes down through the pipes and out into oblivion.” That would be me…UGH!!!

I also discovered that my highest stress level is in the earliest part of my day and long periods of high levels of cortisone can put the body in a “catabolic” state where there is widespread tissue destruction, muscle loss, bone loss, immune system depression, and brain shrinkage!  Not good…especially for some one who is thin, healthy, and a health fanatic to boot!  Aster immediately put me on several immune boosters as well as more supplements on top of the supplements I am already taking.  Eventually, once my stress/adrenal levels are normal I can go off some of the supplements.

However, the biggest concern was my liver.  Aster has me drinking a detox powder once a day for a month to cleanse my liver and detox my entire body to get it back to where it needs to be.  After I’m done with the detox powder I will then take an amino acid complex supplement every day for the rest of my life to ensure my liver functions properly.

It’s been a little over a week since I started my new health regime, and my body and skin have experienced some changes.   A lot of the toxins came out while I slept.  My pj’s were soaked in the morning for a few days and my skin felt a little rough.  Now I’m feeling more refreshed when I wake up (even if I haven’t gotten 8 hours of sleep) and the other night my friend Bianca commented on how “I had no wrinkles on my face!” WOW…I liked hearing that…

Stay tuned for more…

ARE THE SIXTIES BACK IN STYLE…

Posted by Te-see on 13th February 2009

According to CJ Cassaday, stylist to the celebs at gavert/atelier in Beverly Hills, this years trend for Red Carpet Hair is a softer look in design with a loose retro Sixties Glam Look!

Could he mean this????

Nah…I don’t think so…maybe CJ meant more like Kate, Anne, and Christina

It seems like a lot of hair went up in loose knots and buns at most of the award ceremonies this year…The more carefree wore it down with natural loose curls…

What ever the trend…it will be interesting to see who’s hair is up & who’s is down…after all…it is the Oscars, darling and anything can happen!

See you on the Red Carpet…
