The Oscars this year took a turn in fashion and trend.  Almost all the Celebs were dressed in black strapless gowns with a few red and fuchsia thrown in for fun.  I loved the simplicity.  You know that old saying…”less is more…” proved to be the theme on The Red Carpet.  There were a few that were ornate & a few that had too many ruffles for my taste.

Some of my Favs were:

Diane Lane looking ever so elegant in her slimming black gown, black clutch, and hair neatly swept up.

Viola Davis not only gave a heart filled performance in “Doubt” but she looked spectacular in her Golden gown.  It sparkled against her dark skin.

Marissa Tomei (my cousin John Muldoon’s wife’s first cousin)…confusing isn’t it…looked glorious in her white gown that trailed a few feet behind her. I liked her side swept pony tail.

Angelina Jolie as always looked stunning in her simple black gown that fit her to a T.  She has become very gracious in recent years and her elegance is quite apparent.  The role of “motherhood” is definitely one that agrees with her…

And last but not least…Natalie Portman who was one of the few who actually wore any color.  She looked stunning in her fuchsia gown.  Her hair was elegantly swept up off her tiny face allowing all to see her delicate features.

Well, there you have it.  So, much planning and poof…it’s over…I’m already thinking about next year…

This weekend was the Spa & Resort Expo at the LA Convention Center in downtown Los Angeles.  There were so many beauty booths my head was spinning.  I was in my kind of HEAVEN…I wanted to try everything!

Our first stop was to Pevonia Botanica where Beth & I received the most luscious Caviar Anti-Aging Hand Treatment. As you all know I was a hand model for 20 years and after 2 kids and a lot of diaper changes my hands…well, lets just say, “they aren’t so youthful looking any more…”  Brooke Russell who works ‘Inside Sales’ at Pevonia West gave me the hand treatment of a life time!

Brooke first used an exfoliating scrub containing Jojoba beads to take off the dead skin & gently remove any impurities.  Then she used a masque which visibly smooths and rejuvenates the skin.  The key ingredients are called Caviar Filmo-Tech which include caviar & seaweed film.
